Would you do a video addressing the massive increase in cartridge prices. Even our local budget stuff has gone up by 49%. I've had to cut down how often I shoot and so have many others. I don't know how a new shooter can justify affording to get into the sport if the costs keep on climbing like this.

Yep,, I was shocked last week when I bought 6 boxes of cheap stuff . I was using up the last of some 5 year old boxes that still the sticker price so I had new and old together. The new was 3x + increase from 2017, and this is the cheapest available. I will not pay the price required for “premium “. Maybe time to pull out the reloader , or pay someone to load up a case.

​@@peterparsons7141 we shoot a lot of cheddite cartridges here. I was paying £200 per 1000 before lockdown. Now £272 Every other brand is the same story too. There literally isn't a cheap option anymore.

@@elemental4rce I’m going to talk to a couple local shops and maybe get a couple of shooters together to buy bulk amount. Also picking up any at estate sales, gun shows. I could be a diminishing market. Although I, old enough to remember early 80’s, box of good grade (not made of gold grade), but good stuff sold for around 4$cad a box 25. 1984?… In 2012 i was paying 6$cad for cheap high speed steel loads. (Good enough to hunt ducks with). Today cheapest..stuff is 25$,,and it’s cheap stuff.

The Monte was my 1st Benelli.. always a soft spot. My early 2000s version in 20ga is a pheasant slayer and at under 6lbs I can walk all day with it. I hope they make this in wood as well. Thank you for your channel from Minnesota.

Looks like a great update. I have (but rarely shoot) a Raffaello. It’s almost ‘too nice’ to be that grotty day gun, this would fill that gap nicely, being synthetic you’re never worried about getting it wet etc.

Coming from a 500th anniversary Raffaello I love this! Not pinching the thumb will be a very welcome update but otherwise I couldn't see how it could be made better. Hoping the new M2 will have auto lifter option built in

Thank you for describing the 2023 new changes and how they contribute to the shooting experience. Do you press the forearm forward or do you pull it back into shoulder? Tape a flashlight on the end of barrel and shine it on the ceiling where it meets the wall. Then compare your straight line when you pull the gun across the wall with the light trying to stay even with the corner going horizontal when you pressure the forearm rearward and forward. Tell me how the light reacts to the different pressure.

What a good analysis. People who may not be aware of some of the Montefeltro’s details may dismiss the things you’ve mentioned as being trivial . I can support what you’re saying because I’ve shot these exclusively for 20+. My Benelli bit me the other day, and it reminded me it was one of the things I didn’t like. I also just had an issue loading quickly, under stress, and again it was something I don’t like but was willing to tolerate because everything else with the Montefeltro works for me.. except the safety. very cold here last week and because of the hunting situation I had the safety on and off a couple of dozen times in 1 hour,, big bother with gloves on. I like my Montefeltro’s and they were the best I could find for what I use them for, I would have had no reason to upgrade until I saw this new version. Benelli really have refined those little things I don’t like about the ones I’ve owned and shot (a lot) for 20+. The good thing is when I change to the new version I will have no problems finding new homes for my older versions, they shoot flawlessly and always have. Someone asked me the other day what I thought about the Montefeltro, I wished I had started with it instead of trying different makes and models shotguns. But then how would i know what I like and don’t. I am partial to the wood and Blue on the pre upgrade Montefeltro’s, however one butt stock has cracked (my bad), very hard use/abuse. Maybe synthetic stock could be tolerated to better stand up to use and abuse, IF the weight is same as previous wood version. I appreciate your video and assessment, you hit all the details. The details make the Montefeltro a nice shotgun.

Funny, but their 🇺🇸 site seems to only show the walnut version of the new Monte. Anyways, wherever you are, I'd guess walnut will be on the menu at some point soon.

That a UK-based gun channel is even reviewing a new-model Benelli is a sign of the mission that Benelli played a large part in accomplishing. Namely, they made autoloaders acceptable, appealing, and even desirable on a worldwide basis including (gasp) in the (gasp again) UK.

The word classic can never be used in connection to Benelli. Beast, on the other had, is perhaps closer to reality. High recoil, high price, utilitarian, and increasingly ubiquitous is a more apt description in my opinion.

Weight is your friend in a clay gun, so probably the Maxus 2. However if competitive shooting isn’t the goal and fun is a priority- this gun is a great option

Looks like a VERY nice update! Versus the Turks, I'm not sure its practical value is 2x that of an Impala, but if you're willing to spend enough for a Retay, this Benelli looks very competitive. And the cool kids would hang out with you...

I know this is off topic. Been looking for a Caesar Guerini Invictus II ascent here in the states. I cannot find one anywhere. A couple of years ago i literally walked in to buy an M2..... Had a look n handle of an affinity just to see n compair the two as i knew benelli made the affinity anyway, as much as i loved the benelli brand within 30 seconds i just couldn't justify the double the price of the benelli and bought the affinity..... Its been faultless 🤷🏻‍♂️,

@@robertandrews6555 Looking at both these models right now. I think I actually prefer the location of the action spring on the Franchi Affinity. I've heard people complain of springs getting rusty in the buttstock.

So these must be named differently in the UK vs U.S. this looks exactly like the new M2 in the U.S. The monty only comes with walnut stocks and doesn’t have the ribs on the forend.

We are having a New M2 that will vary differently from the US spec version but this and the American M2 are different guns

Sadly, we left handers will not be able to enjoy the new Montefeltro or the M2, as Benelli has dropped the left handed versions. At least in the USA. I won't be letting go of my LH, 20 bore M2 anytime soon.

I owned one in 28ga for 3months. Nothing but a continuous slew of issues with cycling and feeding. It was so bad i sold it off and have better luck with an over/under. I can get more shots off(2) without issue than the ethos cordoba best which might rum 3 rounds, or maybe one. Or many times, none. I realize rolls royce makes a lemon here and there but i know three other guys in my subgage waterfowl group that had the exact same experience with thiers. I wanted to love itn but for 2100dollars us, it was dissapointing to say the least.

@@MattsArchive like i said, i know thier other options are extremely dependable but that ethos cordoba in 28ga ive seen failure more than succes from multiple owners. Not sure if the cartridge just doesnt produce enough energy to reliable eject and cycle as im sure it is proportionate to the spring strength but its just not well matched between spring and cartridge energy in the 28 ga. Ive ran thousands through the 12ga version without a hiccup but the 28 just let me down.

Benelli need to stop tempting me with Autos the new two peace shell latch / bolt releases they’ve been adding to there guns make loading a lot smoother having had a play with a M2 speed I can say the two peace shell latches make them butter smooth to load I’d love to have a play with a new montefeltro and compare it to me raffeallo

What an abomination! First gun I ever bought is a 26” barreled montefeltro 20 gauge. almost ended up with a Remington 1100 20 gauge but the shop guy went in back and found it! If I knew then what I know now they also had a benelli m121 tactical on the wall that was to die for. I don’t know how many rounds I’ve put through that gun but it’s deadly on pheasants and clay pigeons. Johnny has described them as light and whippy but I find it fast and responsive but I am sort of a spaz.

Where's the Wood? Life is to short to shoot with an ugly gun and plastic is ugly and impersonal. I did just look and there is a model with what looks like a Walnut stock. However that figuring in the pictures is apparently just a paint job so any work such as an adjustable comb will produce a pretty funky appearance after it's been re-finished in the area where the work was done. In addition I have yet to see any paint job that plays with the light like genuine well figured Walnut. Good news is that once broken in it will cycle with 24 and 28 gram loads.

bought a 28 gauge ethos and hate it. The recoil operation is crappy , no accessories over here in USA (you can wait 1 year for a pad) their Customer Service the worse ever. Buy Beretta if you need an auto ... so much better
