for the round watercolour paper, maybe take something round that's a bit smaller (tiny plate f ex) & then add masking fluid all around the edge..? or an edge template, either glue on with removable glue or just put it on afterwards as a frame ...

Thanks so much for the suggestion! I will have to try a few ways to see which is quickest and easiest! 💗

As for the round watercolor paper. I have one by baohong and it's a block but I think the best way to tape it down would be to roll the tape up and stick it to the back of the paper.

@kookatsoonjan That is why it keeps sitting, unloved so far. I need to be able to create a perfect white border quick and easy. I'm just kind of crazy like that. Lol. I think I will just use it for watercolor pencils or gouache.

For the round papers, could you paint a rim with masking fluid (use a jar lid to paint around) and then apply tape on the masking fluid in a couple places?
@The.lazy.eyed.artist4 ай бұрын
For the round watercolor, you should be able to use a compass drawing tool to make the border and then keep your water and paint in the ring. I like to take a black pen after it dries to clean it up. Great video. Thank you.

What a lovely haul! Very happy you got the Caran d’Ache supra Color special edition; you’ve inspired me to order my own set. As for the Schmincke plastic palette, be careful with the closing tab. Mine broke, and the white part detached from the blue. That’s why I prefer Schmincke’s metal special editions - they’re prettier, too. I adore those heavy duty watercolour palettes. W&N used to have them decades ago, as did Schmincke, but sadly not anymore. I was lucky enough to get the giant version from Schmincke many years ago. Love, love your cute owl ❤❤❤

Thank you!! I hope you love your CD Supracolors set as much as I do! Yes, I'm concerned about how long it will last too. I think it is for Schmincke superfans (like me!). I'm sad to hear your broke. Thank you for the warning for me and others! I will be super careful with mine, and I'm still glad I found it. I adore the Schmincke metal palettes too, they feel they will last forever! Oh, your heavy duty palette sounds amazing! Lucky you!! I wish I would have discovered my love for painting a few decades ago. Thank you so much, it was so fun to paint the owl. 💗

The magnets on your plien air setup will work much better if you remove the finger ring from your palette so that the can make firmer contact.

Thank you! I will try that to see if it helps. I think it is mostly that one magnet in was placed in a bit too much.

Hi Stephanie! Your apples are fantastic! I'm always so delighted to see a post from you - so please do a review on anything! How do you get the detail on the apples using oil pastels as they are quite chunky?
@TheGypsyChic14 ай бұрын
Thank you!! The Sennelier oil pastels have a bullet nib making fine detail easy. I use a colored pencil to clean up my lines too. It sometimes adds detail, most mostly takes pigment away. 💗

I love my own mixes a bit more too, thank you. I think the kit gets me playing and sparks my creativity. I'm watching the travel kit, for the tin mostly! ;D I bought a gold tin awhile back at Cult pens. The pencils weren't anything special but I do love the CD gold tin. 💗

There are two Technalo sets available. The big one costs about 50 € and the small one, about 25 (I live in Europe). You’ve got an excellent deal purchasing the bigger set for the price of the smaller one!!! I bought the small set because I love water soluble graphite and I was interested in RGB pencils. I like them very much, because you can get very nice effects and the touch of color is so subtle than it continues being graphite and not another thing.

Thanks Stephanie...so sweet of you to give us a peak at your "good deal finds" asap, so that we might also be able o find them. I think the flower 24 half pan set, is the same colours as the 24 tube set they sold years ago, when Paul Rubens first came out with their 48 pan set. I have both of those. Are there colours in your flower set...besides the cobalt PB28 that are the same as in your new 5th generation? Do you really think they are that different, from the original...48 pan set in that PINK TIN? I have my set in another cabin, so have not yet checked the colours...but they look VERY SIMILAR...maybe 4 new colours...like the quin violet and the Pr122 Magenta...a lot of the greens look the same, as the old set. Tahnks also for showing your amazing "couch" art!Great to see how you have progressed , from years ago...You are amazing with your animal portraits...I would love a print of your rabbit/fox or owl....Thanks a lot for sharing. I look forward to reviews of what you decide to share first!

You are so welcome! Thank you for letting me know. It seems like I saw that on an older video from Lindsay the Frugal Crafter. Lucky you, it seems every loved that tube set! I haven't had time to check the palettes over that well, but plan to do a comparison eventually. From swatching and painting one quick painting, I thought the 5th generation is enough improved that I won't go back, personally. The floral set feels like the older 3rd generation. But, I can try to play with them more this weekend and let you know. Thanks for letting me share with you! Aw, that is so sweet of you to say!! Thank you, you made my day! 💗
