He is probably the biggest use case of "Right Player, Right Team, Right Time". The Cardinals were in flux: a defense first-time head coach, a new OC and Oline scheme, and a Bradford injury all contributed to an environment that would hinder any rookie's success. Looking at Baker, Darnold etc, i think he could have been a decent player, maybe a career backup if his landing environment wasn't like developmental quicksand.

It’s weird how in the beginning of the video , it’s stated that the cardinals had talent and were good enough to support a young QB . Its crazy that people in Arizona were screaming to get rid of Kyler after everything he has shown in his first seasons just to enter the QB lottery again. You never know what you get in a QB when you look at all the promising and talented QBs just pretty much disappered from the league even though they supposedly were franchise QBs. Rosen, Wentz, Trey Lance etc etc...
@Collin27516 күн бұрын
So, I can appreciate how much effort goes into making content. That said, I can’t help but offer some constructive criticism: I clicked on the video hoping to actually hear some intelligent analysis on Rosen’s play/style/work ethic/mindset/whatever but as is common for these types of videos, was given a simple history lesson of his career. Unfortunately, I never got any closer to understanding *how* bad Rosen was actually, as the video title states. Anyway, back to Rosen. As a longtime Cards fan, I do feel like the pick was a sound one. He entered a dumpster fire of a team with awful coaching and an OC who was in way over his head. It doesn’t appear that Rosen ever got the right mentorship. Additionally, it also appears that even if he had gotten the right mentorship, he wasn’t in the right mindset to learn from it. The NFL is 100x more cerebral than college, and it doesn’t appear he ever really took the mental part of the game as seriously as he should’ve.
@micnak357415 күн бұрын
I am dead serious when I say this. The Football god decided to punish Rosen for having been too cocky. Rosen's claim that "9 teams made a mistake" got him god's wrath. The lesson from Rosen is this: Stay humble, young men. You still have so much to learn in the NFL.

As a cardinal fan, I really thought we had our qb. They said he was the most pro ready, and the Cardinals had done so well the previous year even though Carson Palmer was hurt. I thought it was a plug and play. Can't blame him alone, but wow was he just plain awful.
@scottcowan734322 күн бұрын
Rosen's NFL career was over the moment the Cardinals realized they could get Kyler Murray. Every other NFL team saw he wasn't ready, didn't show any remarkable offensive abilities, and weren't willing to give him an extended look as a result. Imagine if he had entered the draft a year before and gone first. We might've been having a much different and possibly much worse conversation somehow. Also, um yeah, I can imagine his whole "nine mistakes" probably contributed to NFL players wanting to make his life on the field a living Hell. Good work. Apparently he's studying law or smth now.

A bust? Yes. One of the worst bust of all time? Not even remotely. As he famously noted, nine players were taken ahead of him, 3 of those QBs. I need to emphasize that last point again, per the 9 teams who drafted prior to him, he was not even considered a top 3 QB in his draft class before he ever took an NFL snap. To be even in the conversation for an all time bust I feel like you've gotta be taken at least top 3, MAYBE top 5. By pick 10, historically, most players taken end up being busts, so him being a bust was already more likely then him being a serviceable starter, let alone a franchise QB. Its particularly common for "high value" positions like QB, because a "can't miss" safety might fall to 10 due to their position, but if your a near sure thing at a high value position, you just don't fall that far.
