Koloff discusses how he actually made money of of WCW's police of refusing to fly him out of Charlotte where he lived event when it would have saved the company money!

in 1985, Nikita was a Monster. he was so over, and i enjoyed watching him so much. any man that doesn't understand what it is to lose a loved one to cancer, isn't a man. and yes, this is one of the many reasons WCW went out of business. been watching wrestling since early 1975. been to so many events, met so many superstars, but the people that push the pencils behind the scenes, are the true idiots. nothing but Respect and admiration for the Great Nikita Koloff.

Eric Bischoff wrote in his book about wrestlers changing airline tickets and pocketing refunds. Jim Cornette mentioned Paul Heyman by name. Nikita is the only I know who admits to this practice. At least we now know why WCW wrestlers did this. WCW brought this on themselves.

Amazing! Nikita Koloff had a good thing going for him. Making good money on the side on airline refunds. WCW didn't complain to receive the money from him, and he made thousands off of poor management...Yet the head office never pursued to halt him from doing so. Stunning to say the least. 8^0

That's actually a very good example of the poor management. A wrestler like him, for an organisation like that in those days he'd have been flying into new towns 4/5 times a week, he'd be making thousands per month doing what he did. Good on him. Absolute madness. No wonder WCW was losing 80-100 million dollars a year at one point. Only themselves to blame.

Working for wcw during the Monday night wars; like a kid in charge of willie wonka's chocolate factory... Heck, even jobbers like lightning boot Jerry Flynn were making great money in wcw. What a fun run that was for those guys...

I would agree with the quote wcw poor management unquote....However, he claims to have learned wrestling psychology from Ivan...and no defense for wcw....BUT is complaining he is told to job to Rick Rude (in a cage match) in Minnesota....Rude was born in Minnesota. Now Nikita spite an actual American, his character is "RUSSIAN"!!! So he says hes originally/born/raised in Minnesota (wikipedia page says went to high school in Minnesota)....BUT the character is from RUSSIA! So what is he complaining about. God he almost sounds like Bret, Im not losing in Canada. Though he says he's "a business man" and will put over Rude in Minnesota. His character is NOT FROM MINNESOTA. As for a face losing in a cage match, are you kidding?
