Thanks for reviewing this amplifier! I just came across it & am considering it. Haven't watched video yet but, I consider your channel one of the most reliable on KZbin!

Hi Hans, great review as always. I love mono blocks and I think 100 W is a sweet spot for many with speakers of medium sensitivity, 87 db . From time to time I listen quite loudly and I need 200 W which is only a 3 db increase of headroom. On a personal note, I’m glad that your health is good after your operation. Always looking forward to learning from your long history of technical knowledge. Already cold here in Canada😮

The amp was specified at 100W/8Ω. But 90 watts is only 0,45 dB less so it's not worth the discussion.

@ thanks, I fully understand that 90 watts / 100 watts is too small of a difference to care about. My point was 100 or close is fine for most systems.🙂

Hans, if you don't mind, I'd like your opinion on something. I've been thinking about this for a while, and have no idea if I'm right or not. It has to do with flat frequency response. If you look at what audiophiles typically complain about, high frequencies easily seem to the the number one concern. With so many complaining about the highs in their system, I can't help but think if going for a flat response is less accurate when compared to a live event. When we sit in our listening chairs, the tweeters have a direct line of sight to our ears. And given that highs are very directional compared to lower frequencies, could a flat frequency response actually emphasize the highs in a way that's not natural? Maybe a slight roll off would be more accurate? Anyway, it was just a thought and I wanted to see if I have a point, or maybe I'm overlooking something. I can't think of anyone more qualified to answer a question like this than you.

If the studio makes the right mix, then that mix should not be altered. That is why a straight frequency response would be ideal if other aberrations in the electronics don't spoil the sound.
