OMG Becca I am doing Minuscule's at the moment and started on the big pens last week. Honestly the Big Pen felt intimating and I panicked. The last day for Minuscule's is this Friday 25th March. I desperately wrote in the comments section on teachable for advise, feedback and some guidance. I got no response. I just watched the second video on extra help for Minuscules and you mentioned something about Big pens and having the FAQ's & SMYD having a lot of helpful video's. So I went back went through all the videos until I got to Other Helpful Supplies. 😍

I have started going through your worksheets for big pens and I kept trying to make the upstrokes as small as possible. This video was SO helpful. Now I know that the upstrokes don't have to be as thin as with the small brush pen. Game Changer!

Becca, THANK YOU SOooo MUCH! I recently switched from a Tombow Fudensuke to a Kuretake #13 (because I can refill the ink converter) and I was having lots of trouble with fine lines, scale and (yes I forgot) to keep my paper perpendicular to the pen. Maybe it's time to go back and re-watch your basic videos. Again Thx - You're the BEST, Bill

Great tips Becca! To me the big pen felt like using a paint brush after using a small pen. l had to master almost floating above the page to get the right strokes. After days and days of practicing it finally clicked. Don’t give up if you are struggling!

I definitely did all of these. Good to know how to correct it! I still prefer the smaller pen but want to get better at larger pens to expand my projects. But as they say... different strokes for different folks... (sorry, couldn't help myself)

Hi Becca, I’ve only ever used the small pens. I have the Tombow pens and yours and I love them both. I also have a full set of the dual brush pens because I thought I could easily switch. I was so wrong. I guess I just have to practice. I wish I would have purchased both book sets when I had an income. I will continue to pr active and hopefully get better!

I love your method of teaching - perfect pace and you have a great way of breaking steps down so I can easily follow. I love small pens, but am trying to migrate to big ones. My trouble is getting thick downstrokes. I'm left handed, but don't curl my hand when I write. I have better luck getting thick downstrokes going in this direction \ than in the correct direction /. Any advice is most appreciated!

@ginneancleveland66144 жыл бұрын
🙋🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️Guilty. I am so “heavy handed” and tense when I write that I’m constantly overcompensating for it, especially when I try big pens. I feel like I have so much less control with big pens. Mistake 3 is definitely my problem when I’ve tried to transition.
