White does talk about secret prayer; she said it should only be heard by God... this quote can be found in one of the testimony - Testimonies For The Church Volume 2 pages: 189 - 190. Please see. The devil is not considered when she talks about secret prayer. Secret prayer is not involving other people. If you have a statement from her where we cannot speak our prayers out loud because the devil will hear you and ruin you, then please post. Other than that, speaking out loud to God is still secret prayer if it's just the two of you.

Hello, I have a question, what about this quote from EGW from Our Father Cares Devotional Page 85, 86: "Satan cannot read our thoughts, but he can see our actions, hear our words; and from his long knowledge of the human family, he can shape his temptations to take advantage of our weak points of character. And how often do we let him into the secret of how he may obtain the victory over us. Oh, that we might control our words and actions!" Is it not advising us to not share our thoughts outloud? And what of the verse in Matthew 6 "5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. " 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. Please explain, I truly want to learn more about this. thank you kindly.

Karen Furtado hi, I think what Jesus meant was if your house is a quiet place you can also pray if you don't have a nature around you, I think the preacher place more emphasis on nature based on Psams 19:1-4, because when we are surrounded by nature we can actually see what God has done and glorify his Name. but the secret and foundation of prayer is righteousness. when a righteous man pray God will always answer either in his house or , nature, or in his heart, or under the sea, 1 John 3:22, may God bless you

Satan shutters when we pray aloud. Without the creator, we are succumb to all temptations. An internal prayer or an external prayer make no difference to that statement. Someone who is communing with God is already obtaining victory over Satan's devices. Likewise, praying in nature surrounds us with the Creator's plan of salvation and how he formulated the universe with the law. Not only our prayer, but our environment will encourage us. It is easier to sit in a small room and proclaim God is not awesome, than it would be to sit by the sea at sunset and say the same. The prayers of the hypocrites were to cause the people to look and admire the person. They were not directed to God. It would be like doing charity work for the sole purpose of documenting it on Facebook. They weren't really praying to God, they were looking for praise from the lookers who would say "Wow, look how righteous they are." Look at examples of Daniel praying in the open. What Ellen white was saying is when we verbalize our sins with yelling or screaming at kids, Road rage what ever it's is, and with our actions then satan knows our weaknesses and what to use against us. If we are angry in or mind he can not hear so he can not know :) When we are spending time with the Father praying out loud trust me no demon wants to be anywhere near that! The closet thing just means don't so you are not praying to put on a show for people that when it's your personal time with God it's you and Him. I tell you what it's has made my devotional life grow 10 fold! I even read outlook bible and devotionals. Huge growth in understanding that way. GOD BLESS YOU!
