I left a pretty long comment but now it's not here, I told a couple of stories and gave some facts, anyway brother, I agree with you and pancho 100%, myself and your former KZbin channel had a friendly competition so me and you were extremely similar, I remember some of the stories you were involved in and I'm sure you remember some of my stories with the lies, manipulation and all of the ungratefulness, you and me both never got the respect or appreciation and recognition we deserved.

He's just a genuine guy who's always giving and never asks for anything back. We work together and he'll hit me up to meet him at his pad, and he'll have all these hats, jackets, shirts for me just because. So thank you again. Much respect to you!

I'm a 40 year old Chicano born and raised in Detroit. I grew up listening to Chicano rap from the west and also reggaeton and I always asked myself why are these Puerto Rican and Dominican rappers bigger and got way more paper like Anuel AA,Daddy Yankee,Nicky Jam,Tego etc. Its because they make gangster songs, dance songs and definitely songs that hit the female audience.I would love to see some Chicano rappers reach the status and fortune that these Caribbean Latinos have.

I’m a Mexican American born and raised in South Miami. There’s a big Mexican community over here. Growing up, I remember rocking with Low Profile Records from San Diego a lot more than the cats from LA. San Diego for whatever has always been more talented and were never afraid of making their styles sound a little different. Mr. Shadow, Lil Rob, Mr. lil One, Knightowl, Dyablo. You get the idea. Texas also hit hard with SPM, Juan Gotti, Lucky Luciano, Capone. Most LA rappers never had flow. There’s a few good/great LA rappers (Conejo, Brownside, Proper Dos,Frost) but get overtaken by all these other “rappers”. Back in the day, I remember hearing Lil Rob and Baby Bash get played by the radio over here in Miami and that’s something right there.

The reason that is is because many young Chicanos try to be black. They like the poppin black music That is popular on the radio especially this young generation this is why I get on Raza when I see them saying the N word online especially Mexican Rappers. Its not because im against black people its because we should have and do have our own style YB is a Perfect example just to bring up one. Another thing this is why i say we should talk about Raza Topics have Raza on shows like this not because i hate blacks its because blacks already have a Lane and its a fast one. As Mexicanos we should try and pump up our people before we try and ride the Black train of fame. Everyone thinks when i say this that its because i dont like blacks nah bro i follow a lot of black pages. The problem is i never find good Raza Pages its all prison or drama. Why cant we speak about out people the way the blacks do. Thats not being anti black thats being Pro Raza. Like Kat Williams said i aint anti Gay im pro Pussy cat you dig!! 🤜🤛🇲🇽

Grew up listening to Chicano rap. And yes, like one ones said “crabs in a bucket.” One gets some good attention/ radio play, the other one hates on that. Instead of being happy that somebody made it to the radio, they would hate and call them a sale out. Instead of looking at it as an opportunity, they would trash on them. Sad really. Remember “Pocos Pero Locos” on Power106 back in 1999? That was cool to hear them on the radio on Sundays.

@@haririaskari9943 some of it yea just like a lot of other music but there’s a lot of trash rappers that are famous wtf. You think it’s all trash though because you can’t relate lol 😆. And Chicanos don’t need the rap game. We’re a big part of American history or history regardless the Mexican American culture is well known and established we don’t have to rely on a music genre. And that car show style or culture your making fun of extends way out to Japan.

@@haririaskari9943 you didn’t watch the video ? Or did you just shit on it ? Mexican people are a very prideful race and that’s what I meant when I told you that you obviously don’t or can’t relate, and it really doesn’t have anything to do with you not being Mexican bc there’s plenty of whites, blacks and even Arabs along with many other races that relate and are a part of the Chicano culture and admire our prideful ways, that being enough to be a part of the culture and roll with us even though they aren’t Mexican but will be very much excepted just for sharing that sense of pride and admiration to a point where they even become family and part of that certain tribe so to speak. The answer to your question if you still haven’t gotten it by now, is we are a very prideful people and that’s the reason why a lot of Mexican people don’t support each other. It’s in our blood to be that way and always has it dates back to mesoamerican times and it would really take a history lesson just to break it down to you. A lot of Mexican people don’t even consider themselves Hispanic just to even touch the surface on the subject but that’s what it is Pride not hate or jealousy but pride which to alot of other people it’s small or doesn’t mean anything but to us it does. Regardless tho like I told you we don’t need or rely on a music genre to feel relevant or important. The Mexican race has its mark in history and always will even being next to the Roman’s, Greeks and Egyptians and unto this day and age.

All music is CULTURAL. Not UNIVERSAL. Only music is universal is "Afro" music. "Afro" American music Jazz, Hip Hop, R&B, Funk, Disco. Rock & Roll, Doo Wop etc. "Afro" Carribean music. Reggaetón, Bachata, Merengue, DemBow. Mexicans have no Afro admixture. There is a vibe and Rythm to Afro heritage. Dominicans and Puerto Ricans have Black admixture and close contact to AFRO cultural expression. Mexican music is only appealing to Mexicans. Mexicans in my opinion do not have natural rhythm to Black cultural expression.

We talk about no one giving us chances, but we the same ones who dont give eachother a chance. Look at all the latin artist that are popping right now world wide. Dominicans ,Puerto Ricans, ect they all make hella bank and Sell like crazy . Why? Cause they just come with a business mentality and put aside everything else and support eachother and chase a bag. I forgot who it was but they said they asked mr.shadow for like advice or help with his rap career, and he told him no because that's how they did him. And why should I help the next man out if no one helped me something like that lol and that's a messed up mind set. We all start somewhere and if we got it made or know the route why not teach our youngin's the ropes or help them out.

Bro everything you said about San Diego and what it means to be chicano is way off. Everytime I watch someone speak about what a chicano is or what it means, it stresses me tf out cuz people are really uneducated about their own movements and origin of the word and movement. Chicanos have nothing to do with Mexican nationals. Chicanos are all American peoples, and it was also a movement formed by those American people to fight for equality and social justice from Anglo American society! It was also a movement to have our own category we can fall under as Americans since we were not considered to be Mexican by actual native people from Mexico or American by native American people! The word is from the 1940's it was used as a slur to AMERICAN people of Mexican decent who lived in the ghettos! The movement gained traction in the 1960's thru the 1970's during the social rights movements! So yes bro the word Chicano is old amd has always been used since the 1940s so it's not a new word it's old asf!

Chicano rap isn’t as big as other genres because it’s for a niche market. Only a small, group of mexican americans listen to chicano rap. I grew up in Southeast LA, only people that listened to chicano rap were cholos. That’s it, you can only get so successful with such a small demographic. Me and my homies and most people I know think its 🚮 and lowest form of rap and is a terrible representation of us. When it came to chicano artists we listened to artists like The Psycho Realm, Cypress Hill, Delinquent Habits, Tha Mexakinz. Real hiphop with real talent and distinct style and sound. These cholo chicano rappers all sound the same and all rap the same BS over and over. ONLY chicano rapper i’ve heard that actually knew how to rap was Rob and Mr. Shadow and even then I didn’t really feel them enough to listen to them
