I like what she said about not being a feminist but be a human first…about women’s right to choose hijab or whatever else they want to wear. It's sad that the basic concept of feminism is not clear to many. Feminism is not about women rights, it is about bringing equality in all genders. Please educate yourself. While we talk about humanism, we believe that all are equal but that's a utopia. There are discriminations and inequalities between genders still. I expected much better from Gauhar.

Mam I do understand what you are saying feminism is much misunderstood term nowadays , specially when toxic feminism or pesudo feminism exist which believes to woke feminism even in the smallest thing , but the word feminism itself means advocacy to women right ,it might not be valid for women like you and me who knows or aware of their right ,but surely to the woman may be in the rural or remote area who don't even know about such different social structure exist.

I do not understand people who say that they're not feminists but humanist or believe in equality. Feminism itself means Equality. If people are not aware enough of the term, they should refrain from speaking on it. Very disappointing to see an educated women speaking on Feminism in a way as to turn it into a negative phenomenon. If you haven't faced gender discrimination then consider yourself LUCKY and do not say that discrimination does not exists because millions of women have faced and are still facing inequality, be it in school, office or at home. And please stop with this ignorant narrative of Feminism that it only supports women who wear short clothes (it is a very chauvinist view on feminism). Feminism empowers women to wear whatever they want to, whether it is a bikini or burkha. This interview would've been better if guest had done some study on feminism before speaking on it.
