Bell 47G-3B-1 C-FSTR is seen starting up its engine and taking off from CZNL in Nelson, British Columbia. This classic helicopter was a really cool visitor to see passing through CZNL, love the design of the Bell 47.

I also got to fly in a 47 with no doors. Great fun. I even got a few hours of flight instruction, they were a real handful compared to today's helicopter trainer models (manual rpm control, no governor), then money (or lack thereof) made me move on to airplanes. But I still have special place in my hart for helicopters, the Bell 47 in particular.

@aircraftadventures-vids Жыл бұрын
Can a Bell-47 enthusiast chime in and explain the "turbine" sound on the 47? I know it's got a flat-6 but as the revs increase it has a distinct turbine-like whine that increases too. I'm guessing it's the shaft or gearing. It's very characteristic to the 47 (though I think the old Hillers made that sound too)
@RamblerMan6811 ай бұрын
The cooling fan and transmission makes most of that noise, but this one is turbocharged too (47G3-B1, I'm guessing)
