Hebrew calendar is a solar-lunar calendar, such that the month follows the cycle of the moon and the year follows the cycle of the sun. Another of such calendar is the Chinese calendar. Both calendars follows the solar-lunar model, but they have different ways to insert the leap month. The beginning of the year are also different between the Hebrew and Chinese calendars. The first month of the Chinese calendar are usually in January or February of the Gregorian calendar, while the month of Nisan is usually in March/April. But their months and the dates of the months are basically the same, which the New Moon being the 1st day of the month and full moon falls on the 15th day of the month.

Shalom Moses. Thank you for sharing. I keep the biblical calendar with the help of Devorah's Date Tree channel. So that I can keep Heavenly Father's Appointed Times / Days, as written in Leviticus 23. I believe the prophecies will come to pass only according to the biblical calendar n not the gregorian calendar.

Yahuah's calendar is jig free. When the Moon is led by Spica "Aviv" this determines the first day of the first month. 177 days later is the first day of the seventh month. Yahuah adds a thirteenth month on average every third or second year, syncing His calendar. Teach me to number my days and bring my heart to Wisdom. It's amazing how simple it is to follow and you don't need a man to tell you what day to worship on. Know you not that we are the Sons of Light and we are to have nothing to do with the darkness. That's all that I will share. There are two paths on the course of the Moon. One leads to Light and the other one leads to darkness. The Righteous follow the path which leads to Light and the sinners follow the path which leads to darkness.

Barley in the Abib stage in Israel confirms the sighting of the first new moon. Months such as Nissan are of Babylonian origin adopted during the captivity. Wild uncultivated barley in Israel was, and still is, inspected for the stage of grain formation called Abib, which is the name of the First Month. The plants are watered only from the moisture Hashem provides. During the grain ripening process the kernels are first milky soft and progress to hardness. Those familiar with these stages of the plant can identify the Abib stage of the grain. This is done to confirm the correct month. It has been argued that last year Pesach was late by an entire month as the rabbinical traditions influenced by the Babylonian captivity did not take into account Abib. The Kairites (who have the oldest synagogue in Jerusalem) calculate the first new moon this way as did King David. So, the calendar in the Torah is based on the Sun, mostly the moon,and confirmed by the natural cycles of life on the earth through the growth of barley plants in Israel ( The Torah shall come forth out of Zion). Of interest, all the world's rebellious false worship is based on the sun. (Helios, halos, asherahs, pillars, rose windows, tonsures, Sol Invictus/ Sunday day of the unconquerable sun, Natalia Invictus/ birth of the sun, round communion hosts, sunrise services praying to the rising sun in the east, and on and on....).

One tries to follow the Biblical years not the Roman or pagan years. The biblical months and years are connected to the prophecies given to us to understand the plan of YAHoVeH our Eternal Creator.

If you use the moon the year will be 10 days to soon. The spring equinox does not change from year to year. It will be March 20, same as last year. This should be the first day of the year as it does not change, just like the Father does not change. On the equinox the duration of the day and the night are equal. Hence, first of the year. Using the moon will change the days and feast days which the Father warned about from ancient times. Daniel 7:25 "and think to change times (zeman = holy times, feast days, appointed season) and laws:" An example is the Roman calendar, a beast system.
