This is exactly how I see it! In general, I don't care of ADULTS want to transition. That's their business and has no impact on me. Kids, though? Telling prepubescent kids that they're transgender and should begin transitioning? James, a boy whose mother insists he's Luna, plans to chemically castrate him at the age of 8! How in the hell is that kid supposed to know what he is? I also saw something about a boy in his mid-teens going through physical surgery - having his penis removed. What if a few years down the road he realizes he's made a mistake? IT HAPPENS more often than people think. Now that kid is ruined for life. One other thing of note is that the examples we see are pretty much always boys transitioning to girls, not the other way around. There's a growing movement to make boys effeminate and I find it disgusting.

These studies they cite to prove "safety" were done on women above 40 dealing with hormone problem. Yes but isn’t omitting his choice to transition an untruth? If you listen, Walt never says he made a mistake; he blames his grandma, his psychotherapist, etc., those around him forced him into this. No he did not ask to or deserve to be abused yes it happened and hurt him but at what point do you realize your beliefs- what you choose to accept- can hurt you? You choose to accept what is and isn’t true. I’m sure there are instances when Walt disagreed w his grandma or knew she was wrong, so I think it’s wrong of him to basically say it’s all her fault for what he thought and did. I can’t disagree that it was likely against his judgment because of limited understanding - even today we don’t know everything about how the brain operates and that’s challenging, too. Accountability though is the most important respect because it’s between you. The truth will set you free. Allow you to recognize and respect how hard all that’s he been through (understatement), how strong and passionate he is about identity so he can let go of the weight of regret. Forgive yourself. Reflect so you can honestly understand yourself and grow. Appreciate all you have learned and those you love and been loved by. But start w the truth. Sadly Walt seems frozen in time, in pain and now like a rubberband, an advocate against trans rights. This is just one instance of how messy and nonlinear one’s ‘success’ path is and not an end all be all confirming trans is bad and wrong and evil. 🙄 there are many trans people who do not regret their choice. It was something they knew about themselves not something they were prescribed. However this is about detransitioning so it would be unrealistic to omit the high rates of suicide and mental health illnesses associated with trans people. So it is a unique story with thousands of variations and their struggles. I’m sorry. Transitioning wasn’t right for Walt but it’s also not wronged him personally- that was his mistaken choice and accountability will allow for a more critical approach that remembers the ultimate goal is to help each other rather than profit off a complex culture turned trend. Already I've heard a story of a little kid during a sociology class experiment presentation who walked up to a male college student who was playing with barbies (experiment to break social norms), and the little girl asked him "Are you a girl or are you a boy? because you're playing with barbies." The fact that this young girl would even ask "are you a boy or a girl"... just because he was playing with barbies. I liked playing with barbies when I was really young. Shoot, I mean it's fun. There's so much new stuff and you get to like be in charge of something for once and you get to make the decisions. As a young kid, that's something cool. I'm so glad the idea that I could be a girl because I liked that wasn't shoved down my throats nor perpetuated by my peers in their blind support... These teachers and parents have no idea of the human mental growth nor the implications nor how influencing some of these things can be.. You're absolutely right, @Wild Bear. I worked at a drug/alcohol rehab center for some years. Until then, I had no idea how rampant and widespread the trauma of childhood sexual abuse actually is. The facility stayed full and there was always a waiting list for the long-term treatment program. The adult clientele who claimed childhood trauma (sexual abuse or molestation) was in the high 90 percentile -- age range ran the gamut from 18 to probably late 60's. How crazy is that? That truly is a silent pandemic. Plus, I'm sure there are plenty of people who live with their secrets who don't use drugs/alcohol to cope or cover up their feelings. Disclaimer: Of course, I am not trying to indicate every person who uses drugs or alcohol has had this typical experience.

I too was abused more than once as a kid by more than one person and it resulted in a long road with depression, anxiety and low self worth. Doctors who administer hormones blocking a child's natural development should be criminally charged. Doctors performing sex reassignment surgery on children should be criminally charged. If a child wants to be the other gender, the first question should be WHY is it not satisfied with the gender it was born, what made him refuse his own gender, and find out who brought the child to hate who he is. I personally know two adults who as adults had their gender changed, one FTM, the other MTF. Both went through the whole proceedure of gender reassignment, i.e. years of psychotherapy followed by massive doses of hormones and living as the other gender, etc. until they actually had gender-altering surgery. 15/20 years later, both in their end 50ies, they began to realize the underlying issues that made them want to be the other gender and that they fell for the false security of "gender reassignment will fix your problems". Today both live as the gender they were born with. For both it was a life long journey over 5 decades of pain, sorrow and misery to finally be able to accept and actually like who they were born as and who they truely are.

I once watched and listened to a former atheists testimony he is a doctor and only believed in himself and his whole life was centered around wealth materials and work.... He spent his whole life drinking and living for himself until he fell I'll with a deadly incurable pancreatic disease.... And he was given a short time to live and he began to wonder if the old friend of his who for years tried to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with him could be right..... What if the gospel were true??? He began to realize if it were true, he was in a lot of trouble!!! He mentions feeling so so cold and feeling like he was leaving his body only to experience sheer utter terror and see complete darkness.... He fought to live long enough to wait for his Christian friend that he used to yell at and spit on to come see him in the hospital.... He started to think about a life after death and he realized this man could be right and I really suggest that you at least check out his testimony and hear what he has to share....
