I’ve been in a similar dark place and it’s true. I had to be so gentle with myself and would celebrate if I just got up and brushed my teeth or ate one small meal that day. Mental illness can be just as horrific as physical illnesses and sometimes they go hand in hand. Mental illness should always be taken seriously because if it’s not then at the worst it can result in the person taking their own life.

Here I am watching this at home in Australia, an almost 60 year old woman relating to what Rylan has to say about his experiences with his mental health. I’ve subscribed because of the intelligent conversation today ❤ I especially loved the way he spoke about if you can only switch on the kettle it’s a step in the right direction 🥰 Having faced the trauma of surviving a major car crash, and the change in the way my body now has limitations has been a very long process of acceptance, and hearing Rylan talk about how he copes just confirms to me that I’m stronger mentally than I ever realised. Thanks to the KZbin algorithm for putting your video on my list today 👌🏽🥰 I’m sharing it with my husband, as I’m sure he will relate to it too, and he’s a 74 year old. Ross/Rylan you are the real deal ❤

Wow! I’m a 59 year old woman, who is also learning to live with a life limiting condition. I’ve had multiple sclerosis since 1999, but in the last couple of years it’s really ruined my life. I can no longer drive ( reaction times too slow, leading to accidents). Walking is now absolutely shockingly difficult, so I’m looking at wheelchairs. I lost my career as a teacher nine years ago. I’m struggling, but I’ll get there. Thank you for commenting, as it’s incredibly helpful. And yes, Rylan / Ross is a sweetheart ❤️‍🩹😘xxx

Men will never talk because all we get is man up or ignored then everyone acts surprised when they find out Tom, Dick or Harry as hung him self and it will always be this way But also a mans natural trait is to not sound or look weak which is down to others making men feel weak the minute they speak out.

@@Danny_kay that’s wonderful! And she sounds like a wonderful woman too ! I won’t say that you’re lucky bc i wud imagine you were attracted to her bc of her qualities and therefore well done you for finding the right partner for you and being I would also imagine the perfect partner for her too ( as much as any of us can be ofc) I worked in mental health for 12 years my children suffer with it & myself too and I grew up with a mother with manic depression ( but that was in the 70s) so I have huge sympathy and empathy for anyone who lives with anxiety especially and depression. I love that you say your children ‘saved’ you ( paraphrasing) I think I would agree with that for myself too and few of my friends also . You’re children will benefit from a father that speaks openly so don’t hold back we live in a changing world & that’s a good thing . Take care Danny 🙂

I’m only at 23.58 minutes in but I have CPTSD, depression and anxiety from having a horrendous childhood and further abuse, gaslighting ect from my father in my early 20’s (I’m 30 now) listening to Ross on how he did his steps and how he progressed from there has really helped me personally just to know that doing the smallest of things are a step forward. I can’t do PTSD therapy because my brain goes into shut down mode and I start to get the horrible nightmares back but listening to Ross it’s definitely made me want to start talking to myself as a child and doing them little steps. I currently get huge anxiety when going into the shower so maybe if I scale it back it might help. Thank you Ross… I hope you get to see this just so you know you have helped someone out! ❤ xxx

Ross made me cry when he said about the rock bottom period, and detailed that there is a real life, where we forget the smaller things, putting a kettle on. Even just the button itself. And all of that, because I saw that. I related to his dual personality, and I realise I used to have a Rylan and have been a Ross for some time, enough time in fact. This was exactly what I needed to hear and more. It's the sharing of our vulnerabilities that make us stronger, as well as our strengths. Because it's the roadmap to understanding ourselves and each other on a really fundamental and necessary way. I love these talk shows that are coming out now too. No longer is TV going to be just showmanship, it's going to be a whole arrangement of amazing and wonderful personalities, showing weakness and strength is the key to a human and exciting experience for all. People like Ross, are definitely going to help so many other people who are struggling to come to terms or figuring out who they are. It goes way further than sexuality, it's the pinnacle of who we are too that matters even more, if not, it's all that it is that matters... I'll paraphrase Rylan here, it's whatever you want it to be.

What a relief to see someone who is paid to be unreal.. Being real.. With everything going on on ITV.. Its good to hear from someone who is conflicted about themselves but sharing the honesty. We are all flawed

What a fabulous interview. This came down my feed & I’ve subscribed. Rylan has always been a great bloke in my eyes. Ross is fantastic. I love the way he was so open. The interviewers you two are flipping ace. Rylan/Ross I don’t quite think you know how many people you will have helped. 👏👏👏👏 brilliant in every way. Ross I have an inkling that full happiness will happen very soon I sincerely hope it does ❤️ xx

Ross and Rylan are now one and evolved spiritually . He speaks too his inner child when stressed 😩. When I look at Rylans legs I think 💭 he must have had some serious growing pains . 😂
