You wondered what a quarry was when you looked at the sign. A quarry is the same thing as an open-pit mine from which minerals are extracted. The only significant distinction between the two is that quarries are open-pit mines that generate building materials and dimension stone.

Going great, mate. Congratulations. You should call into Western Australia on the way home and do the Bibbulmun Track it's just on 1000ks (600 miles) through some stunning scenery. It's the right time of the year to do it.

Thanks. 34.9 miles. I got up real early that morning and was “booking it.” I was walking fast and didn’t take any breaks that day. I ate while I was walking. I got to Castlerock just in time to catch the last train to Portstewart. 🥵

The miles you put in are absolutely amazing. Was curious as to your equipment for filming but also editing. Do you do it all by your phone while on the trail??

Thank you, Sandy. I use my iPhone 14 Pro for filming. I use the iMovie app to edit and upload all of my videos. When I did the PCT and the PinhotiTrail, I edited and uploaded videos in Trail towns while I was on trail. But when I did the Ireland Way, I recorded and stored all the videos while on trail and then waited till I got home to edit and upload the videos to KZbin. I will probably do it that way from now on out. 😁

How do you like the Durston tent compared to the solo plex? I’m considering both right now, I only carry one trekking pole and like to keep my gear in the tent, but the Durston is tempting, looks awesome

I prefer the Durston though I still like the Plex Solo. The Durston has more vestibule room to store gear, etc. The back panel is mesh whereas the Plex Solo is DCF. If it has condensation, you’ll get wet. The door on the Plex Solo falls in the dirt when opened (rainbow door). The Durston door can be opened with one hand. The trekking pole is in the middle of the door on the Plex Solo. Again…I prefer the Durston and use it exclusively on all my hikes.
