If your GPS thinks that you are in the middle of the ocean, the GPS probably shows land at the high water mark of the tidal range which is always dry, and you are walking on a wide beach near the low water mark. By contrast, if you was looking at a nautical admiralty chart, it would show low water mark (also known as chart datum) so that shipping can see all of the exposed rocks and avoid.

Fantastic journey and experience, Rev. I continue to be amazed by your daily mileage. Aside from the mileage and effort, you had to manage the drone and camera work to produce such compelling video content, which I'm sure added to the time it took to complete such long distances every day. Your reason for hiking is elegant in its simplicity ... because you can. As you have said, the day is coming for all of us when we cannot, so there is really no time to waste to chase our dreams. I know you are inspired by the content in Shawshank. I'll offer this piece from a country song by an artist named Cody Johnson, called "Til You Can't." The part that inspires me is, "If you got a chance, take it, take it while you got a chance. If you got a dream, chase it, 'cause the dream won't chase you back." Have a listen. By the way, I live in Sandy Springs, Georgia, not far from Amicalola Falls and the AT southern terminus. I hike up there quite often. If there is anything we can do to support you next spring, perhaps transportation from Atlanta to the trailhead and a place to stay the night before, my wife and I are glad to help. The trail provides, sometimes before you're even on the trail!

For the Christian, the end of life is not a farewell but a homecoming. As we leave this earthly vessel behind, we step into the eternal embrace of our Creator, where there is no more pain, no more sorrow, and no more death. Our hope lies in the promise of Jesus Christ, who said, ‘I go to prepare a place for you.’ In His presence, we find peace that surpasses all understanding and the joy of eternal life. This is not the end, but the beginning of life everlasting in the glory of God.
