The most infuriating part about this was when one of the Senators said, "If and when we do something..." IF?!? Are you kidding me?! @teresamorgan45293 жыл бұрын
The senator immediately corrected herself.
@sydneyjohnson13363 жыл бұрын
@@teresamorgan4529 actually she didn't. In speaking of doing justice for these victims, she said, "You have played a big role, if and when we do, of making it happen," and then she ended her speech. There was no correction. I'm talking about the Senator at 44:10 who said she hopes and believes they will take action. She was trying to be kind to them, but using that kind of uncertain language is incredibly discouraging to women who have already waited six years for justice. If you tell an abuse victim "if" you receive justice, that just shows that you're already including the option in your mind that they won't. She should have stated strongly and emphatically, "We WILL take action on this immediately." That would not only bring true hope to these victims, but it would also put a healthy pressure on the other Senators to actually take action and fulfill their promises.
@kathrync86323 жыл бұрын
I caught that too. It is precisely THAT type of thing that continues to victimize all over again. I guarantee you that her "if and when" statement is what took the greatest toll on these gymnasts that day. After all of this time, after all of the testimonies... there is an IF??!!! What does that say to them?! AGAIN, their trauma is marginalized. THEY feel marginalized as people. They have been pleading to those in authority for years, "Please help us!" They finally get the ear of an entity they think will step up... and they hear "IF" It's devastating.

The one comment made by Sen. Feinstein, sticks in my mind because she stated it more than once was, “if and when…” What did she mean, if and when they get something done? These young women have already spent years waiting and petitioning for the organizations to have charges filed against them. They should have their therapy paid for by Nassau and the organizations who ignored them and other monies to be paid to the women or organizations these women choose.

Exactly my thoughts. Sen Feinstein sat across the table in her office listening while these distraught young ladies cried their hearts out having to recount their horrific experiences. How is it possible that she matter of factly, in a dead pan voice, responded with “if and when?” What a heartless disgusting woman!

How is this possible in your country? More than 300 abuses and during several years with no reaction during such a long period. For me this is unbelievable. One could think we talking of Afghanistan, no we are talking of USA. This is not the greatest country in the world. Where is FBI, the USAG or USOC?

To all these amazing and strong women that stood up in court and denounced this monster Larry Nassar, I am sorry is too little, I am ashamed to be a young man, knowing that a man did that to you all and can potentially do that to someone else’s daughter. When a person does that to you, he is a pathetic coward and not a man. At 32, I have promised myself to always listen and not question when a woman says something like that, it has to be true and it must be immediately taken seriously, a woman would never jeopardize her integrity by publicly saying she was abused if it wasn’t true. Thank god some of us are raised decently by our parents. I cried when I watched this video, I was horrified. I pray for your continued strength in womanhood.

Why the prejudice by the Senator ? It is all absurdity by the entire US federal government
@janceleste3 жыл бұрын
These senators for the most part with the exception of a few are condescending, I especially take offense with the females because they SHOULD know better ! They are all in positions of power just like Nassar was , I wonder how much they really understand what this type of abuse and trauma does to your psyche and how crippling it is for the rest of your life

Certainly if 4 kids come forward it's time to shut everything down until the truth can come out following an investigation. My heart hurts for these young women. They are heroes. It is incredibly hard for them to testify. What they still face in a battle with PTSD is staggering. My heart aches. Love, prayers, and admiration. Agreed exemplary, amazing, heroic young women.

Tragic dare election of duty wonder how much money it cost them for them to not do their job. I can only imagine there's money to be made off of these girls from the organizations that spring up on the backs of their talent

I Love you girls so much! God bless you for being so brave and strong! I can't even imagine how hard this has been and traumatizing, that I am bawling for you! The fact that you are so publically enduring something so traumatic in front of our leaders, who seem so unsympathetic. This must be almost as traumatizing as the actual abuse! I am so ashamed of our leaders, and I am so so sorry to you, our beautiful children! You deserve and will get the greatest rewards in Heaven! I love you so dearly and praying for you! God bless you!

What about the girls and boys that they actually did repot it and the judges let their abusers go free what happens to them? Proof is in the pudding these young women will be haunted by this for the rest of their lives,by this monster, but its just talk until something is done it will continue and now its in your hands.
