Actually that shape which is developed is invisible shape... suppose even if we do such deep meditation then there will be powerful waves around us.... Similarly it is believed to be such waves of shiva .... *In short* .... *In "Jyotirlinga" the word jyoti means the light and Linga means the shape... So the word *Jyotirlinga" menas depiction of light shape around lord Shiva, and in a way worshiping shiva around whom that light shape is created*

Shivlinga essentially means symbol of Lord Shiva (Linga means symbol) and not men’s private part. We should not believe in such things so easily. In the Vidyeshwara Samhita of Shiva Mahapuran we can find detailed explanation of why Lord Shiva is worshipped in Shivlinga form, its significance and how to worship Shivlingam.
