I loved this game so much. Played on PS1! Also had Allied General! Why don't you upgrade your Core units more?

The trick with zoom in and out on the Playstation 1 version of Panzer General is to press 2 bottons at once: 1. The R1 button. 2. The green triangle button - while pressing the R1 button. You can then cycle through all 4 zoom settings. The 2nd furthest out of the zoom settings shows generic pictures relating to which of the 4 basic airplane type an airwing belongs to: 1. Fighter airplanes, which often automatically attack enemy airplanes that attack your adjacent ground units or bomber airplanes. 2. Dive bombers, the only class of airplane that can attack submarines. 3. Level bombers, which destroys about 60% of the fuel and supplies and ammo of whatever enemy ground units or enemy surface ships it successfully attacks, and also temporarily suppresses about half the fighting power of whatever it attacks. 4. Fighter bombers, which tend to have unusually good spotting ability. It's nice for example, when there are enemy submarines that you need to sink, to have a quick overview of where your dive bombers are.

Armor doesn't seem to have overrun in this version. That really changed the pace in PG2.
