Part 9 of the Gettysburg series.
Much has been made of the heroic actions of Joshua Chamberlain and the 20th Maine during the Battle of Gettysburg. What many may not realize is that an almost identical action took place on the opposite end of the Union line with David Ireland and the 137th New York Regiment. In this episode, we're exploring this lesser known story from Culp's Hill that was pivotal to the success of the Army of the Potomac during the Battle of Gettysburg.
