Is there any benefit to running more modern cards? Like the 4060 over a 3060ti? They are almost identical in price. Also, is there any benefit of running more ram on these setups? I ask because I have other ram chips already that are 2133 or 2400 that would fit the motherboard you recommend. The last question I have is why are you running the additional fans on the rack? With the fans the video cards have, the power supply fans, and the fan on the processor, it doesn't really seem to be any benefit of running the additional fans. To me it just seems to be additional energy being used that isn't really providing any benefit. And I say that with 23 years PC building experience.

@@mackemacchiato3238 You need cheap energy yes. But, scaling up to several gpu rigs ends up in the same result... Little to no return. Other methods to farm, but then you need LLC, and tax incentives, writeoffs to survive. It's absolutely pointless for the avg. consumer.

@ mm I watched the whole video and it didn’t look good to me”rely on” that the crypto itself would double or triple. My friend is a Plummer and I just had an idea if one could scale it up and start pushing the heat out in radiators in the house. Power the GPU’s with solar and thus getting more back than just some imaginary income. If crypto goes up, all good. But if one can get the heat at the same time then one use all energy well. That was how I was speculating a bit.

I may have missed something here but you calculate profitability based only on the energy cost but you need to factor in the capital investment as well (hardware), at 0.12 to 0.6$/day it's going to take year to just break even...

Tesla V100's draw about 150 watts while hashing and their performance is only a few percent less than a 3060. Their price on the used market is coming down to absolutely absurd levels. I have been running eight v100's at 100% for several years now with no failures, temps on the boards never go above 65C. The caveat, of course, is that they are passively cooled, so you need to do some duct work or spring for a proper chassis. :)

I had a 36 GPU farm myself....back in 2017-2018 back when GPU mining was profitable. Today GPU mining is dead....unless you like losing money. Either buy an ASIC miner, or just buy the coins and HODL.

You didnt power the molex connectors on the mobo. That will cause issues when theres More gpus plugged in. Also on that psu you should load balance the power cables.😊 good video enjoyed it👍

Using wood for your mining rigs is not very prudent fire safety. You can build things as well as you are skilled but electrical components fail especially cheap stuff from China but also just in general, and a spark or simply intense heat could cause the wood to ignite.

GPU mining doesn't qualify to "make money" activity anymore, I'ts just an expensive hobby, you do it just for fun. Not even worth a a heather if you crunch those figure on the absurd amount of money and time you gotta spend on this rig. It can be rather seen as a tool to "practice" and learn more on the crypto frenzy, nothing more than that.

ok so that 1 single miner is consuming 400 watts of power so if you live in Tn you are paying around $44,215.70 per year or $121.06 per day or $847.39 per week or $3,684.64 per month to run that 1 single miner. I sure hope you have a great paying job to fund all of that extra cost until you hit the mining lotto!

seems like a huge waste of time - buy the coin, dnt worry about ROI or electric. Once a coin is buyable on markets there is no point IMO.
