...It doesn't work that way. I once thought the Cup was following me. Lived in Pittsburgh in 91-92, Cup winners. Moved to New York in 94, the Rags take the Cup, and then the Devils in 95. I lived in NJ from 87-90. I would move to GA in 97, the Thrashers have never sniffed a cup. The magic always ends.

But agree with others honestly despite the history, the Thrashers name, logo, and colors were perfect. Georgia Gladiators if Atlanta gets an NHL team, the ECHL team should then leave the ATL metro and move to Baltimore and enter the farm system for the Capitals along with Hershey in the AHL. The South Carolina Stingrays can then leave the Capitals system and enter the Atlanta system.

I live just down the road in Roswell and was a season ticket holder of both the Flames and Thrashers...the North Point site seems more likely now. The Gathering is now trying to get sales tax adjustments like Meruelo did in Arizona, and a majority of Forsyth County will not go for it. Anson Carter's group is in Fulton County and has better infrastructure to handle this new project. Marta subways are already in Fulton County and stop a few exits short of Mansell Road where the arena is going to be situated. I play in the local league and a majority of us live in the area near the proposed new arena. I would "vote" to bring back the Thrashers name...we do have the Gladiators here in the ECHL, and I have heard the Aviators thrown around.

What about the Georgia Jacks? I imagine a man with a face like the old LA Kings logo, swinging an axe like the thrasher's hockey stick, and maybe flames coming off of the top of the axe. The primary colors could be red and navy blue (for the flannel shirt), secondary light peach/cream (jersey color), and tertiary maple brown (axe handle and man's hair). The shoulder patches could be shape of Georgia in red with a navy outline.

Any name that's honeybee related could ruffle up feathers with Georgia Tech, although their mascot is technically a wasp (yellow jacket). It's a similar situation to how Bill Foley wanted Vegas's name to be the Black Knights, but that drew ire from the US Military Academy (Army), so he had to settle for Golden Knights.

I have heavily been involved in Atlanta amateur hockey for 43 years. Thrashers failed because of ownership. There are twice as many hockey fans compared to the thrashers days. NHL will come to Atlanta again and easily succeed.

I dunno what you call them, but I think a Black primary with Peach secondary kit would be unique and offer plenty of opportunity for cool designs; the Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta United have already experimented with this color scheme as well. In my opinion, a cool jersey goes a long way in getting fans. Just look at how iconic the Atlanta Braves hat is, many people wear it without caring about baseball at all. I started watching the Thrashers in 2011, just in time for them to leave! Here's hoping the third time is indeed the charm!

I think it should be the Atlanta Thrashers with a new rebrand logo, like what the Winnipeg jets 2.0 did but if the Thrashers don’t work, I like the name the Georgia Raptors! There is no dinosaur themed creature in the NHL so it is definitely unique and there is a cool history about the Georgia raptor. It’s still part of a bird theme since the word raptor means bird of prey and it would be the Georgia Raptors based on the 2008 reported sighting of a dinosaur like raptor in Georgia from an 18 year old and his grandfather when they went hunting (if I remember correctly) and It is one of Georgia’s most known cryptids. Now I know the name may be copyrighted with the Toronto Raptors but that is for the NBA. Heck, there is the Carolina Panthers in NFL (started in 1995) and the Florida Panthers in the NHL (started in 1993) so it is definitely possible. The Toronto Raptors got their name all because Jurassic Park came out in 1993 and liked the name raptors, which has to be one of the most random name choices for a professional team like ever…lol and if the name Georgia Raptors can be used, it does have cool story behind it just like how the New Jersey Devils got their name, the Jersey Devil

I seem to recall Georgia having issues with wild feral hogs in the 90s. That could make a fun logo with a possessed hog with snarling snout, laser focused eyes, and sharp fangs - holding a hockey stick... For some reason it is vivid in my mind... so maybe someone already has this. dunno. (I googled and found the Rockford IceHogs - but that is not the logo I envision. But I'm guessing that eliminates the idea.)
