For any interested parties: In Rochester, we only refer to the team as the Americans when we say the whole team name, as in The Rochester Americans. Otherwise its shortened to the Amerks. For example, no one in ROC would say "Hey wanna catch an Americans game tonight?" We would say "Hey wanna catch an Amerks game tonight?" But if someone asked who our AHL team was we'd say The Rochester Americans.

Great to see Cooley tearing it up in the AHL. I was hoping he’d re-sign with SJ. Barracuda have two rookies leading the way: Collin Graf and Luca Cagnoni. We’ll probably see both with the Sharks at some point this season.

Utica about to fire their GM thank god. Dudes to busy being the AGM with the Devils too. I hate how you can have two jobs, like your not even focused on your own team. Terrible fitzy move to make the Utica GM one of the AGMs. Maybe the goalie development is a problem in NJ now, too bad Fitzy and owners are soft and wont do anything until its too lame. Their not a real team send them to the ECHL

Is the AHL doing well financially? I always see a ton of empty seats in various arenas when catching on NHL Network. I don’t have a subscription for their own channel.

Most of the parent clubs directly own their AHL affiliates anyway so any losses at the farm can be written off as developmental expenses - those that aren't directly playing in the same barn are marketed pretty locally anyway
