I've been feeling that way about Eriksson for so long. He's so all-encompassingly okay. He's responsible defensively, offensively neutral, doesn't really hit, doesn't battle much. He's sort of just there not getting in anybody's way. Want him to kill penalties? He'll shrug, go out there and play some store brand hockey. Want him to play in a top-six position? He'll move the puck around a bit and skate here and there and his line will somehow function perfectly fine. Want him to play on the fourth line? Same thing. If you ordered one generic NHL player, they would send you an Eriksson.
