Florida now has an elite front and an elite back. Now to see how the middle holds up. I think this core can win a Stanley cup, but looking at the other competition I don't see it happening this year, but within the next three years it is quite possible (Tampa and the Leafs are gonna go into cap hell and Florida is always in prime position to poach players now that they have a competitive team alongside that zero tax thing)

Wings fan and MI resident here. I travel to Ft Lauderdale every October to watch Panthers play my team. If the Panthers played in Miami, they’d have good attendance. The current arena is in the middle of nowhere and not easy to get to. The Panthers have more fans than they get credit for. I’m actually surprised they have as good attendance as they do, with the location of BB&T being laughably bad. If any of you ever get a chance, head on down there and catch a game. The arena staff are fantastic, tickets are as cheap as $20, concessions are good, parking is a breeze and the atmosphere is fun.

@@patch8376 We used the Panthers jerseys for a rec team I played on at the time... I also have Avalanche and team Canada (just needed a red jersey, so why not?) for the same reason. The only fan team jersey I have is LAK. Black was also handy to have... But because I wore all the jerseys to play in they have my name and number on them... so they don't have any real value to anyone else. Mine are all 90s vintage jerseys. Haha memories...

@@patch8376 Talk about memories... so I couldn't recall the details on my Team Canada jersey so I just went to the closet to look at them. The guy who bought me most (all?) of my jerseys was a collector and had all the teams. He was very particular about getting pro weight and all the patches that were worn that year so I was curious to try to figure out the years on my jerseys. So I go to my closet... Turns out I have more jerseys than I remembered. Team Canada: it's Bauer with the maple leaf emblem with white hockey player, red maple leaf on the left and black maple leaf on the right of the white player silhouette. White and red stitched outline. There's sublimation on the bottom front and back and sleeves. The back has a bottom white and grey band with a maple leaf silhouette on the left. The sleeves have a little darker red sublimation too. The shoulders have the logo and Canada printed on them. All these jerseys are stitched name plate and number but this one is clearly not the same quality. New Jersey Devils: 1893-1993 Stanley Cup patch. CCM. Authentic collection. White. So it must be their 1993-4 home jersey. I actually remember making jokes about my new New Jersey jersey. Avalanche, Kings, Panthers: all CCM with no patches. All are mid 90s vintage. All "authentic collection" labels inside. Random purple and silver roller/street hockey jersey with a made up logo and team name from some team I played on. This one is actually in the worst condition. Probably due to all the chain link above the boards in the league I played in. Too funny. It's also a nice light weight jersey material, which I know I appreciated in the summer heat. It makes sense I would have white, black, red jerseys bc those were pretty common team colors. Avalanche, Panthers, were definitely from teams I played on. (I guess the Panthers wasn't red enough for that team I wore the Team Canada jersey for? I remember discussing needing a more plain red jersey and he suggested Team Canada so that's what we got.) The whole team wore those Panthers and Avalanche jerseys and socks. We looked pretty sharp. I remember having yellow and royal blue practice weight jerseys but I didn't keep them all these years. I just couldn't part with these ones though. And since they are all my name number I couldn't really sell them if I had wanted to... someone could change the nameplate I suppose. I think the best use for that Team Canada jersey was when a Canadian friend of mine took me to see the Kings play in VAN, where she is from, and she wore it. It seemed appropriate that a Canadian would actually wear it once. Thanks for going on memory lane with me. I completely forgot I had a NJ jersey...

They're called the Florida Panthers because their mascot is the Florida Panther, an actual sub-species of North American cougar. They're not laying claim to the whole state or maybe they are. Wayne Huizenga was kind of a jerk that way. I'm surprised he didn't redub the Dolphins as the Florida Dolphins when he owned them.

Florida games are the weirdest to watch cause of the half-empty arena. It is like they are playing some unimportant friendly game. Never the less this year we could actually see them in the playoffs. Let's see how Bob plays outside of Columbus.

Bad ownership. The story of the Florida Panthers. Simple. 7:33, perfect example. And the most egregious in the history of this franchise IMO, and that's saying something. Considering where they were as a franchise, what their history was, the point in their rebuild they were at, the reasons for that episode, ownership being behind these decisions, the specific decisions themselves, the fact that amateurs could predict the outcome of these decisions as they were being made. It's the reason why they are back to floating around, throwing stuff at the wall, with no direction, no identity (spot on comment by The Hockey Guy), it's why they feel they had to pay a goaltender 10 million dollars a season, *facepalm. And I disagree, they played bad defense that lead to bad goaltending. I will never forgive this ownership group for that whole episode of the 2016 offseason, never.

Attendance is a south Florida win culture thing, no one gives a crap until playoffs for any team. I’ve been to marlin games where churches used to give out free tickets let alone the stadium sell them haha. Hurricanes Football can’t fill “Dolphin Stadium” (mostly because it’s too big of a stadium and too far from the old orange bowl). Dolphin fans are the same way, they only show up if the dolphins might make the playoffs. The only team that pulled constant number were the Heat with Lebron Bosh and Wade

The Panthers identity is fans throwing rats on the ice, they need to get out of Sunrise and back to Miami; I know the old Miami Arena is no longer there though. I think they were called the "Florida Panthers", because a "Florida Panther" is an actual animal (a species of Mountain Lion that inhabits Florida). I agree Quebec deserves a team, but if a team is going to relocate to Quebec, it should be the Colorado Avalanche.

I remember when Valerie Bure was a part of the first Memorial Cup win of the Spokane Chiefs. I was living in Spokane at the time so I still remember when they bested the (spelling issues, bear with me) Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, the Chicoutimi Sanguiens, and the Drummondville Voltageur. That chiefs team could have won against some NHL teams, I think anyway

Let me start by saying I AM a Florida Panthers fan and still go to the games even when the arena is pretty damned empty. Thats just what you do for a team you support. I mean, you HAVE to go down there and let them hear how you feel about things.... I mean, I was a season ticket holder in ATLANTA of all places for 4 f'ing years. If I am willing to put up with that than, Florida is a no brainer! Getting rid of Marchy was one of the dumbest moves I have ever seen. He was our top scoring winger that season and they just dropped him.... And Marchy was a bargain player with I think like 750k per season... Talk about an epic mistake. Marchessault should still be a Panther. That was one of the worst moves in the history of anything. Hell, losing Galant, Marchey AND Smith was a tremendous F$%& UP.... but, hopefully the team we have now with Bobrovsky in net and coach Q at the helm will produce... And we NEED a performance that takes us deeper in the PO's than the first round!

Yes, I can blame them for not showing up. The franchise should be moved to Quebec City. They might actually have fans show up to their games. There are plenty of "nontraditional hockey markets" that DO support their team. The Panthers market doesn't. That area doesn't deserve a hockey team.

This is maybe just my perception, but it seems to me when you are talking about trades in this video you are talking more about the effect of the trade on the other team than on the subject team (the Panthers here) than in other videos. That goes back to the Panthers difficulties with having an identity. They need to build their own following. People in the stadium that want to see them play, not the opposition.

Every single time you’ve mentioned Florida in the past couple weeks.. it’s all about their goaltending.. which I get was poor.. you are forgetting they have a poor defensive core.. Bob had what a .906 in the regular season behind a phenomenal defense in Columbus.. but that doesn’t matter, because ??? Bob will be league average, per usual, there defense still sucks and they will score some goals
