That is a spiffy Toronto Maple Leafs magnet. The old man voice sounds like it hurts, still hilarious. A short history video in the voice might be funny. Could be impossible to do if it takes a toll on your voice.

You should channel your "inner old man" for a whole episode of these. This is the perfect place to do that.

Don't let the leaves winning. The cup distract you from the fact that the flyers are still 40 years away from their 1st lost

For the finals, it looks like they were able to play the first game at the old Madison Square Garden, but they couldn't play game 2 there, likely because the circus was taking over in New York. As a result, that one was moved up to Boston Garden before they finally finished the series in Toronto.

Technically the Quakers were didn’t fold until 1936. They were inactive but were still members of the league hoping to get a new arena in Pittsburgh

Pardon my ignorance and i know i could just google this but what ever happened to the maroons? they seemed like they had a good team so far and montreal was a strong market enough for two teams back then. Is there still a Montreal Maroon fan club? do they have a hockey history museum that shows all the history and info about the alumni? you've piqued my interest in this mystery team... what is a maroon anyways? ive been called something close to that before so im not sure if its a good thing or not
@patch8376
@patch8376 6 жыл бұрын
I remember reading about it forever ago and there being some controversy about it in the '30s because the Maroons were arguably the better team on ice.

Hockey here in Montreal is a VERY serious business. The Maroons got hit hard by the depression and, meanwhile, the Habs got Maurice Richard, Elmer Lach, etc. and became a juggernaut. Later, when they tried to resuscitate the franchise, it was too late. Nowadays, same could be said for the Nordiques. Which is sad as I am from Quebec City :/

Money, a lack of money. They only lasted a year after they returned too.

Makes sense, it's always about money... Though you'd think they'd make more money playing hockey and fans aren't likely to show up if you stop playing for a year. I guess that explains why they didn't last longer.
