Tag2 Best competitive Tekken Tag 1 Most Fun Tekken and most broken. Tekken 7 Most balanced Tekken Tekken 8 The most cinematic and easiest Tekken Tekken 5 and 6 were decent packages that pack a punch. (5 is lowkey godtier for introducing new fundamental mechanics that we use today ie the crush system.) Tekken 4 was the most mature and dark Tekken let down by floaty gameplay and busted stages and mechanics. 123 are the OGs that will forever have my respect for paving the way for this franchise to flourish especially 3.

Tekken 3 is the best by a mile. The gritty futuristic vibe, breakbeat music, first game with 3D backgrounds, embu segment, tekkenforce, tekken ball, first game where you can mod. I felt all the music fitted the characters well. It's like turning a nerd into a model. It's just raw and it's always number one to me

Tekken 3 is my classic I played it by myself and only with a friend or two. Its still the king of ps1 tekken. Best soundtrack overall. 8 despite its flaws I've enjoyed it more than 7. I spent plenty of time online and had my fun with it. More than 7 or 6. Has a UMVC fan I guess hype can get me to spend more time on things than usual. I still like the Soul Caliber series the most though.

I have a soft spot for Tekken 2 and Tekken Tag 1. Tekken 2 was the first Tekken game I played and one of the earliest PS1 games I remember playing. My cousin owned the game and I would always play it when we hung out. Tekken tag was the first game I played on ps2 and I loved it. The tag team aspect of the game was great and the graphics/music still hold up to this day. And I like Tekken 5’s Devil Within mode and I liked how you could play the arcade versions of the first 3 Tekken games. But I enjoy the franchise as a whole and it has been a game that has remained one of my favorites over the years.

I think it's perfectly fair to include T8 as it is in your list, especially with you giving the wiggle room of saying it could change later. Wild stages are one of the things I think DOA does better than Tekken in general. Nothing Tekken does will ever beat the outrageous Jack Bryant of VF dunking a little girl off a skyscraper while screaming "YEAH!!!" T5 is iconic if only for that sick intro and the "Heihachi Mishima...is dead" meme Man, not being the biggest Tekken fan, I can't help but feel good to see T7 and TT2 at the top of the list. I've heard TT2 was pretty unexplored and deep, too. This are the two old games I would be most interested learning, especially Tag since my favorite thing ever to do in 3D Fighters was DOA5 tag battles with the homies. We had a crew at our apartment complex that played together, and tag battles have a lot of room for weaker players to enjoy the game. I honestly hope they add a tag mode to T8 some day, I think that's smarter than trying to make a new TT game, and a lot more realistic to achieve.

Tekken 4 and 5 are by far my favourite Tekken games of the Franchise, especially from PS2 Era.The soundtracks is what gets me the most next to the game's atmosphere, and Tekken 4 and 5 soundtracks have the most Iconic soundtracks of the Franchise in my opinion. For me Tekken 4 and 5 remain even in these days the most Unique and Authentic Tekken games of the series.

I still personally love the older Tekken games (T1-3) I think they’re still fun and I like to go back to see how far Tekken has come but my favourites are literally Tekken 7, this was my introduction to the Tekken franchise & I love how the game feels. & tag 2 is my other favourite Tekken game, it feels so right, has so much personality, the roster is beautiful it literally has all my favourite characters except Eliza but that’s where Tekken 7 comes. Both of those games feel great & fun. Tekken 8 wouldn’t be far behind them but it’s definitely lower i enjoy the game but I can only tolerate so much of it before I get genuinely mad. I could be in the best mood and Tekken 8 will ruin my mood i don’t like chip dmg or heat these things don’t belong in Tekken.

Been a Tekken player since Tekken 3. My favourite game is easily Tekken 8. It truly is the most fun one for me. Somehow I already managed to have more hours in Tekken 8 compared to Tekken 7; this fact is fascinating to me because throughout my whole life I always had a Tekken game installed no matter what. (Having the jukebox in the game is sooooo nice. Listening to Tekken 3 music makes me want to play more than I already do)

This was a pleasant surprise of a video and largely agree with your analysis. I started on T2 but have played every Tekken to some degree and I hope for 2 things: 1. I hope Harada will adress the problems in T8 and potentially add more single player modes. 2. In the end I hope this game does well enough to maybe later down the road we will get TT3. I think the Tekken Tag games can allow Bamco to bring more characters, bring back more music, and potentially experiment more with stages again? I might be off base but I believe due to the less seriously competitive nature of TT that they can afford to perhaps experiment a little more. Great vid 👍

For me, it was Tekken Tag 2 on PS3. When I found out you could completely customize the music, it was heaven. I had music from the Street Fighter EX series, Virtua Fighter, and older Tekken games. Hell, I had Mark Henry's theme music Somebody's Gonna Get Their Ass Kicked as the menu music. I also feel Tekken's music has been on a sharp decline after 5. Video game music as a whole of I'm being honest, but this is just how I feel these days.

I'd agree with this list. Only my list wouldn't have either Tag game on it. Not because I don't think they're good, but I've just never gravitated towards them or tag games in general. Tekken 5 DR and Tekken 7 are definitely my favorites and I'd go as far to say they're interchangeable as Number 1 depending on my mood. Tekken 5 was the first Tekken I felt like "Damn, they hit on all cylinders" and Tekken 7 was the first Tekken I actually felt I wanted to honestly be better at and compete in. Since we played 7 for soooo long by the time 8 came around I had this idea of what Tekken is to me personally and 8 ain't it. I'm a VF guy and I've honestly been playing Tekken mostly because 3D fighters resonate w/me more, so 2nd to VF, Tekken is one of my fav 3D fighters. With that said, when that new VF drops I'm probably not touching Tekken til it gets back to basics.

It's going to be an unpopular opinion, but Tag 2 is my favorite Tekken game and what I would argue to be the best. Not in terms of balance or anything obviously but in terms of personality, its all star roster returnign favorites, paying homage to all the little lore snippits and relationships, all those unique tag throws and character interactions, it's just REALLY hard for me to say otherwise. For someone who isn't really into grinding ranks or optimizing combos and just wants to have fun, it feels like it was made for me.

Tekken 7 early season 2 was the shit. Too bad I hadn't a good enough pc at the time because I didn't get enough of that period. Tekken 5 was the first tekken game I owned, unlocking all the characters cutscenes was a blast, Jinpachi was a childhood trauma, even when you didn't know wtf you were doing the game was incredible.

For me it would be: Tekken 3>tekken 8>tekken 5+dr>tekken 6>tekken 4>tekken 2>tekken 1>>>>>>tekken 7 Tekken 3 is my introduction for fighting game having my dad,uncle,grandcousin play each by each and it mades a such good memory and also is what i get my favorite character jin kazama which practically is very strong and i like how my father said he mastery both 2 style martial arts in very passionate way. Not to mention how it has so many casual mode i can play. Tekken 8 having the best game it deliver ignoring scummy battlepass and their scummy microtransaction i always have very blast with the story,casual mode, arcade mode fight against 4 different bossess and also jin here is very best :) Tekken 5+dr having devil jin which makes it very best they can give even tho jin was very....underwhelming for what he do but i still forgive for having devil jin being very good. Tekken 6 having their story mode pretty good which could make argument, introducing lars was so epic i get goosebump for he was and becoming my third main in roster(jin always no.1 following devil jin (: ), the customization was so massive i can do anything with it even making lars looks like goku XD or making jin have enormous lightning which what i like. Tekken 4 even thought was underwhelming as a game but i still forgive for they make jin even tho discarding his mishima and kazama style to kyokushin karate, he still very good to play(i even bully my cousin for always playing noobs since i using jin XD) And the following series is just me curious what older series has been because of my grandcousin telling how he play 1 and 2 like. As for tekken 7, not playing and wont playing since i still remember how trash the fundamental gameplay was, looking at the tournament i even hate more how boring it was even ttt2 was alot better than that. 1.Tekken Tag 1 (Best pure Tekken) 2.Tekken 3 (First Tekken I played and a lesser Tag 1, but the presentation and extra/unique features are different enough where it's worth revisiting often, probably more than once a year.) 3.Tekken 4 (First Tekken game I actually owned, so I've played it incessantly, gameplay and presentation are incredibly unique and different, also worth a revisit every year.) 4.Tekken 5/DR (Technically the best, but far from my favorite, still an almost flawless game, I'd say weakest thing about it is the presentation, but only if you're looking at the 3 games that came before it, as the ones after are inferior in every way, revisit both versions often.) 5.Tekken 6 (Awesome game, Scenario Campaign was revolutionary, story was incredibly dumb and uninteresting, not a fan of the bound mechanic and rage system, I dislike every newcomer from this game onward.) 6.Tekken 8 (I like the game a lot, but it's several notches below even Tekken 6 for me, not a fan of the new mechanics or the bloated movesets, but it feels better to play to me than Tekken 7.) 7.Tekken Tag 2 (Way too many characters and the tag mechanic is way too complicated and not particularly fun.) 8.Tekken 2 (Aged very poorly gameplay-wise, still a very nice presentation FOR IT'S TIME and a fun experience to go back to occasionally.) 9.Tekken 7(Meh...not a fan personally, I don't see a reason to go back to it.) 10.Tekken 1 (It's trash, feels like a prototype.)

Close to realism and story telling would be Tekken 4. Peak Tekken Gameplay Mechanics and Contents would be Tekken 5/Tekken 5 DR Customization Freedom would be Tekken 6 and Tekken Tag 2. I’d say Tekken 5/Tekken 5 DR I would say the Best Installment of Tekken by Far. This would’ve changed my perspective if Tekken 6 and Tekken Tag 2 were released in our current Gen with Improved Online play and balancing/patches along with its base customization content.

I'm going to have a controversial take here. It's Tekken 8 and I'll explain why. Outside of tekken force and team battle, the current tekken has the total package of what you could want in a fighting game. As a kid I dreamed of a fighting game that I could pick up and find a real opponent any time of the day, and only now it's really possible. It has the best practise mode. for casuals you can download an endless stream of AI opponents, with ghost mode, it has the jukebox ect. yes online isn't perfect but tekken 7 outside of death matches was far worse. Waiting 2 minutes for a match to load, people save scuming thier ranked ect. Tekken 5 dr is probably my favourite from a gameplay standpoint but as a package it's barebones and the online was unplayable. It's easy to look back with nostalgia at these older games but frankly we have never had it better...

Tekken 8 has issues but I will say this: it has by far the best replay and practice system

I personally do not pick a 'fav game of all time' kinda ting only based on 'gameplay' ... that matters A LOT ... but it ain't everything for me ... i want it to be an actual package ... TK5 to me , is the BEST game of the series ... the roster is awesome ... game is superrrr rich in content ... the graphics are AWESOME (for it's time) , the stages , the designs and the music are bangers anddddd the gamrplay is super fun as well ! No fighting game can ever top Tk5 for me ... cuzzzz well , it's not only all the things i said , BUT it's also the Tekken game i believe i spend the most time playing and bcs of that , i have tons of AMAZING memories with it ... the other top spots to me are taken buy Tt2 , Tk7 , Tk8 andddd Tk3 (it's more of a nostalgia effect ik, but still )

Gameplay: tekken 5 or tekken 7 Story and atmosphere: tekken 4 by far Stages: tekken 4 Aesthetic: tekken 2 or tekken 4, also tekken tag 1 Soundtrack: tekken 2, arcade tekken 3 or tekken 4 Overall, tekken 4 was excellent in all aspects except the most important and essential, gameplay.

I liked Tekken 4 mostly. yeah gameplay wasnt that great perhaps, but I loved that unique athmosphere of the game. stages, costumes, epilogues, prologues, announcer everything were awesome. If only, the roster was expanded a bit (adding Jack-4 and a few returning characters), and didnt change the throws/jumping/fight start animations, it would have been the greatest Tekken no doubt with that being said, for me Tekken 3 is the most fun one, too bad the healthbars are too small Tekken 3 gameplay with Tekken 4 style heathbar, story, athmosphere, stages etc with Tekken 6 roster (with a few additions), costumes and customization would be the great Tekken for me

In my opinion, the best Tekken game is either Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection or Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

I know it’s unpopular, but I’ll always put Tekken 4 high on my list. I don’t know what it is, but janky stages and all, I loved the grounded/weighted feel. Jin felt like a real karate man, and Lei felt so smooth to play. My friends and I always called it the “Mario 2 of tekken” because of the way it stuck out like a sore thumb from the rest of the franchise, but I loved it for that. And tekken 7 is pretty much a perfect game to me. I’m still very hopeful for 8, but we’ll see
