What I'm taking from this video is: if you are a sensitive artist type of a person, stop telling yourself you're too sensitive for this industry just be mindful there are steps towards success, follow those steps, prepare yourself for rejection and just keep going :)

I asked the universe for a sign, some sort of path and guidance to what I should do to finally start taking action on this dream of becoming an actor, and this video came up so randomly. So many scammers out there promising overnight success when it’s logically impossible when one has no experience or knowledge whatsoever. I didn’t submit to these, but I also didn’t know what to do. It’s 3am in the UK and this is quite possibly the most authentic video I’ve ever seen on this topic. Yes, there’s the self doubt and insecurity regarding age/too late to start (I’m in my 20s), but will be working on these feelings. Thank you Wendy.

I'm 23, a former correctional officer and currently working in security for the local government. Recently after going through 2 really rough, abusive relationships i was feeling really depressed and looking at things i had a passion for and to go into those feilds while working and since i had a really strong love for film / television, i decided i wanted to be an actor or a film director so i'm looking forward to these next few years of pushing myself to try and create something that will be appreciated and loved by people for years to come. Your videos have been a great learning tool and source of positivity while figuring this out and thank you so much for them. I hope one day we can work together! Acting has always been my dream. Lost my brother to suicide in 2017- my WHY and moment that made me pursue everything i want even with all the ups and downs of anxiety, depression, anger. I minored in theater in college, lucky to get a modeling agent in MA(not many jobs but 2023 has been great so far), graduated in 2020 with business major and bouncing job to job in the business world, feel “to old/late” and losing confidence on what to do in order to take more action towards MY dream. I want to develop, learn, CONFIDENCE/FAITH and create art of deep emotion to touch others. Often and still do worry I do not have “it” or resources and overthink maybe im not meant for it and I should be a cop or firefighter..Life is a journey and so far one hell of a ride…I appreciate you Wendy as you always help even though we do not know each other. Hope you have an awesome day.

Hey, Wendy i just want to say i'm very grateful for your support, i'm 15 and i'm kinda on my own ofcourse i have my family, but most of them don't believe in me. To have someone who really does and actually knows what they're talking about is just wholesome. I know you have a parent course but my parents won't be willing and i want to do this on my own. My questions for you are (1) Is your HWC program also designed for children or is it more efficient for adults? (2) Is it a smart move to become a child actor or should i wait until i'm older and then persue my dreams? Much love from Jana, keep up the good work !❤

Jana, you're already ahead of the game by having someone like Wendy to learn from at such a young age. I wish KZbin was a thing when I started. Until you're 18, you at least have a lot of reading to do and of course all the other steps Wendy tells you about.

In order to become a child after you need your support of your parents. It’s that simple. The meantime you could be taking acting classes and learning how to act. Really learn how to act practice scenes, record yourself on video doing different scenes. Use the free app Scene Bot to practice. Take theater class at school undo plays.

Hello Ms. Wendy. I love your videos and how honest you are when it comes to speaking to us about what to expect as actors. My question is how can I go from a working as a non-union background actor to working as a lead/supporting SAG actor in Tv & Films? Also, which website do you find works best for finding work for someone without an agent/manager?
@wendyalane1
@wendyalane1 Жыл бұрын
Get into solid acting classes and learn HOW to act. Then train and practice continually. Actors need Actors Access profiles so agents and managers can submit their actors to TV and Film. Actors need Casting Networks profiles so agents and managers can submit their clients to Commercials and Films. You also use these platforms to submit yourself to build your resume. Here is an example of a working actors Actors Access profile. Rebekah Kennedy is a Coach at Hollywood Winners Circle Academy teaching actors how to start and build their acting careers. resumes.actorsaccess.com/RebekahKennedy
