Last year, my housemates cat brought in a very young wild mallard duckling. We saved it, but our local wildlife rehabber wouldn't take it because of bird flu. Fast forward one year, Jupiter the duck is still with us. She got angel wing, so will never be able to fly and cannot be released. She lives in a big crate which has basically taken over our unused dining room. She gave us 5 eggs this year, and loves to be part of every conversation. We enjoy hand feeding her live mealworm treats. She has an outdoor pen with a kiddie pool that she uses, supervised. She lives the best life we can give her.

@@Devina210 Nope, but the cat is now afraid of the grown up duck and avoids her when she is allowed to roam the house. Oggy the cat is usually outside looking for something to kill. He keeps the rat population down for sure.

@@Coffeeislife33 in 1966 my dad died of cancer. He left 3 little girls, 13, 12 and 8. My mom had to get a job. We had a very nice home. We had what we needed but not much else. We didn’t whine if we didn’t get what we wanted. Things were much different then. Since you’ve probably never walked in my shoes you wouldn’t know what it was like. Kayla buying a cosmetic holder at Goodwill for Sophia was what made me think of getting something you didn’t have to have, but it was nice to have. Some of grew up without. I noticed that Matt and Kayla were buying things for the kids making sure that they had some special items. I don’t believe my comment was odd at all.

I just wanted to give you a suggestion for your shipping station. I do a lot of shipping as well and I installed racks that have a bar that goes across and thru the center of my lindustrial size rolls of bubble wrap and I also hang my shipping paper over and It is so nice because I can just pull off the bubble wrap and the shipping paper as needed . I also put a hook in the ceiling that I hang a huge bag of packing peanuts from and just use a hair scrunchie on the bottom to keep it closed that way I can just open it and let as many peanuts fall into my boxes and tie it off when I’m done. This all works so well because I don’t have to take up floor space or closet space or my shelving to store any of it and it’s all right there ready to go. My island has drawers and cupboards, so I store all of my tape, pens, labels , poly mailers and a lot of my boxes in there. I also put locking caster wheels on my island and anything else that didn’t come with wheels. Adding casters to everything has been a total game changer. I think I have things in place then I come up with a more efficient or better layout and having those wheels that I can move everything on and then just lock them into place increased my organization and productivity.

That Scarab Beetle is called a "boot jack" it helps to remove ones boots after a long days work. The hole in the bottom of the beetle is so you can nail or screw it down to the porch. Back in the day, we had wooden porches. ❤

We live in the country.. our cat lives here to keep field mice out of our house. She does eat everything she kills even with our daily feed for her. And because she lives fully outside she is a lean 20 yr old cat-she lives the way God intended💕

There are metal shelves that hold the yellow topped black bins in a way that you can just slide them in and out instead of stacking them. Might be an option for your “wait to list” area. C o s t c o currently sells them, I have also seen clear bins with yellow tops if preferred over the black ones
