I honestly don't care how many bodies someone takes, I like Orihime because she's cool and I don't think her killing another character would make her cooler. And I don't dislike Sakura because she useless in a fight (she high key isn't) I don't like her because she thinks her elementary school crush who basically only ever showed contempt for her is worth her disregarding her own life and basically never grows beyond that emotionally. Being of questionable usefulness in battle doesn't make me dislike someone, them being a complete dip shit does. (seriously tho can we talk about how there was literally more romantic tension and development between Naruto and Sasuke, but for some reason Sakura just never got over her first unrequited crush)

There's this problem a lot of people have with the fact that lots of female characters have supporting roles in battle when it comes to shonen. However, just because a female character is not fighting doesn't mean she is useless or bad. Bulma from Dragon Ball comes to mind: she is very smart and she saved Goku and the others with her technology and intelligence several times. Sagas like Namek and Cell don't end up well without her. I understand that people want more female characters kicking ass in anime but doesn't make every supporting female character bad. Orihime is a good character, she tries to help, and her abilities are key to keep the squad alive. She is also not toxic or into abusive relationships like Sakura (to both her and Ichigo's credit, they have always treated each other with respect). She also had a very harsh life and tries to stay optimistic despite that. This is coming from someone who used to think that Orihime was awful. But as you grow older and learn a bit more about storytelling (I'm a writer), you tend to analyze characters individually and not based on popular takes.

That's so messed up. Sometime editors do great job in improving the source material with their advices. This isn't one of these times. The dumping of the secondary characters later in the series is one of its weakest points. We were building so much to make these characters prominent and there's no payoff. It pisses me off that we could've have something much better than what we end up getting.

People always (said) it’s the worst of the big 3 or that it was garbage in general (I was part of the second crowd before watching three episodes of One Piece, all of Naruto, and all of Bleach) but Bleach is genuinely the best of the Big 3 and with the recent TYBW that gap is just getting bigger. Also Orihime’s power is not just time but also space. She also (manga spoilers) blocks an attack from the strongest character in the series, strong enough to the point where to beat him it needed Ichigo AND Aizen to jump him.

The thing with bleach is that it stands in the line between a shonen and a seinen, so for kiddos a lot of stuff goes over their heads and for adults they get bored of the excessive fodder fighting and want more of the introspection stuff. Bleach has its problems obviously but it got the worst rep ever back in its hayday. People hated it with a passion. Most ironically they said the series was great up until this point and this is where it got bad. You might walk back changing your mind on the series after this because the pacing falls of a cliff. It's nothing you didn't see already in naruto or one piece they gotta pad out the episodes to leave the manga time to get ahead. But damn did they do it dirty. I'm sure people have already said it but orihime gets it the worst even thus far in the series they already changed a bunch of scenes with her for the worse. And they fill the scenes with the worst shit. Like they could at least put some cool stuff to pad it out. Too much effort ig. All that being said the highs in the soul society don't come anywhere close to the highs of the arrancar arc so at least for the good bits where they didn't just phone it in and try to make everything as cheap as possible that should be peak. You got hot takes but i'll be the only one to agree with you that everyone else is more interesting than the soul reapers. I got some bad news about who the most popular characters are and who gets the most love though.
