make sure you take a fuel sample and perform a fuel pressure test and smoke test on the motor to cover all your bases. keep in mind bad fuel could screw up a O2 sensor. it worries me that you had to replace the newer O2.
@HomieHektor7 жыл бұрын
dayan ordonez I believe the newer O2 got damaged because of the wiring harness that got damaged by the leaking power steering hose. It's a common issue on these truck apparently. The warranty dept will figure this one out, I was just told to replace the harness...
@dayanordonez68767 жыл бұрын
The Homie Hektor you must Work for GM. I only consider changing a harness when intermittent problems are occuring or when a wiggle harness test fails. Of course the warranty department rather throw darts then pay for open time to diagnose.
@HomieHektor7 жыл бұрын
dayan ordonez that's right 👌🏼 if t was up to me I would've diagnosed it. I'm in the heavy line department at work, that's the only reason I got to see the car(the harness replacement) but diags have to go to driveability and if it requires "heavy" work it comes to me...That's the dealer for you 🤙🏼

Have a 2015 Traverse that I just did the front brakes and rotors on as well as changed the oil. Driving it home, I got a CEL and intermittent rough idling and acceleration. Code was P0133. Wife asked immediately what I did to cause this problem... Lol. I don't see any way this is related to the work done, but then I read something about the sensor venting and wondered if a splash of oil could have possibly caused that to happen somehow? It seems so unlikely, but stranger things...
@HomieHektor6 жыл бұрын
David Snedigar P0133 is a code for an upstream sensor, it would be pretty difficult to contaminate the sensor while doing the oil change. 👊🏼

That's what I figured. Thanks for verifying that I'm not missing something!

Did I get that right - the HO2S had already been replaced twice and then you replaced another one after the harness? I've got a couple of questions...Where are you located, California? I'm asking because most of the GM dealers across the country are bumper to bumper.When are you moving to the Tune-up/Driveability Department?No GDS 2? You weren't required to supply your own scan tool and did it because heavy line doesn't get to use that stuff?How much is GM paying for LABOR CODE: 5430940 harness replacement now a days? I'm sure not enough...BTW - You've got a future in this if you stick with it.

Scott Chase I've had my own scanner prior to the dealership, I got hired at the Dealer as a Heavy Line Tech. So, driveability dept diagnosed this vehicle and was given to me to replace the harness (straight time) after being damaged by a power steering hose leak (according to them)I believe I flagged 12hrs... They have 2 driveability techs so I'm not moving over anytime soon. They have a Scanner but I'm not too familiar with it since I don't get to use it in heavy line, So i use mine, I've had it for 3+years...Thanks from California 🙌🏼

A little of topic but quick question maybe you can help. I have a 06 Chevy Colorado that’s turning off while driving. What can cause that. I recently changed the fuel pump. Getting codes p0446,p0171 and p0128. Any help would be gladly appreciated!

Ultrablue Pool & Spa, Inc. I wished the fucken dealers should reprogram their engine control modules for no charge as it is most likely the case. Unfortunately I don’t know what they will charge you. I think it should be part of cost for owning any vehicle.

Did you ever find out what the P2096 code is from, I'm looking into it too, maybe a fuel pump sensor, I'm going to use Cata Clean if catalyc converter is clogged.

This truck has been the biggest headache . I've got 10 codes all in the fuel system. The truck was in the shop for months, either they were too busy or just couldn't figure it out. The same shop put a brand new motor in it. Supposedly a new computer that had to be programmed twice. I am not a mechanic but I am mechanical and have done a lot of my own repairs. I can't afford to take it to the shop again. We have 10k plus with the new motor. ( I think the lean conditions are what killed the first one) 10 codes??!! How the hell is this possible? Do I need a new computer or is it something as simple as a bad ground on the fuse block? Please... Any ideas or experiences with this thing would be tremendous help....poo9 po172 po191 po193 Po 2096 Po 2098 po228c . I gotta little code reader so I know in general what they are

Hello, I have this code p0133 o2 sensor circuit slow response bank 1 sensor 1 indicating the type of car Kia Sportage 2009
@dtnel6 жыл бұрын
DID you clear and reset the fuel trim data to relearn? This can be done on vehicles. What was the end result? Was it a faulty O2 sensor? IF so did they figure out why it failed? MY guess is if oil got on the sensor it may have blocked the natural venting on O2 sensors which believe it or not for those that don't know the venting is done through the wires coming out of the sensor as small as it is the sensor still vents that way. Weird but true it is. Did anyone even test the sensor the first time? It would've been less time to test the sensor than replace the harness but that's GM for ya. "GOVERNMENT MOTORS" Smart enough to get a bailout after their own failure, screw the employees and retirees out of pensions, creditors out of money and go about business as if nothing ever happened. Biggest bend over the taxpayers got besides the financial bailout for the banks. I actually have a independent test tool besides my modis edge with oscilloscope that checks only o2 sensors no matter the type they are and tells you if they're good or bad from the wire harness in to the sensor. Used it a couple times as a shade tree mechanic but it works great. I still use either the modis oscilloscope or the Picoscope to verify as well. You ever checked out the Scanner Danner channel on KZbin or where he's at on his own channel now at ScannerDanner.com now that KZbin screwed peeps on the monetizing deal unless they brought that back? He went his own way anyways forums and all. IF you haven't checked him out venture over sometime as he uses the same scan tool as you I believe and explains things really good in a understandable format. His book is a great wealth of knowledge and reference material as well.
