I know you don't like the Wago wire connectors but I've found when you're trying to connect stranded wire to solid wire the Wago lever nuts work really well.

I have this LED ceiling light in my kitchen. I do like it, though it is a bit difficult for one person to install it by themselves, as you do have to balance it somehow while trying to make the wiring connections. My managed to get it done with one person by balancing the light on your shoulder.

Is it absolutely necessary to have an electrical box? The current fluorescent fixture just have wires out of the ceiling. Great video. Thanks.!

No original box? 'Guess the code considered(s) the older fixture does that protective function? My garage shoplights were done that way - no ceiling. I didn't know it was OK for enclosed spaces? Thank you for the video.

Works great.

Problem with this is led fail need to replace whole fixture not just bulbs. I thought easy to replace flouresecent tube bulbs with leds tubes but seans more evolved so haven't done it.

There are replaceable LED bulbs (tubes) that you can convert your fluorescent over to LED omitting the ballast and the fluorescent.

I didn't think you could use a plastic box for any electrical wiring in the ceiling. I would have like to see the part of the fixture that plugged into the metal mounting base.

I would guess that it's fine because in this case the box is not supporting the weight of the fixture.

Why not just replace the fluorescent bulbs with led bulbs?

2 different animals. Fluorescent bulbs need a ballast, LED bulbs do not need ballast. Plus the tumbstone is better for LED suitable rather than improvising the flurorescent tumbstones.

craig because its not required....and if you had to put tape around the wire nuts, then you stripped the wires too long.
