Absolutely love this. SBGL are my jam and my favourite AoS army by far. Iv been hoping for new grave guard and black knights sculpts for a while and this reveal did not disappoint. Plus the new Prince Vordhrai and Zombie Dragon is absolute chef's kiss (and also seems to be a bit of a cheeky homage to the Ghost flame Dragon and Agheel from Elden Ring, right down to the pose!) fun fact: there are now 3 different sculpts for deathrattle skeletons... lol 1 from cursed city, 1 of the newest versions, and a reworked (nearly identical) version of the previous kit that is supposedly easier to put together

@@RuralCastle513 nope, extremely similar and thematically identical but 3 entirely unique sprues the ulfenwatch skeletons have much different (lack of belts/daggers and banner pose are the biggest giveaways) the 2 newest ones are almost exactly identical but they changed the sprue to make them easier to assemble since it sounds like there were issues with legs snapping frequently

All of the new models look really good. I love seeing what amazing sculpts some of these artists are able to design and share with us. I'm hopeful to see some rules that really make me feel like a vampiric lord when my army is on the table. Every game I've played so far against my friend group has felt extremely underwhelming. AoS 4 has felt really good so far and I can't wait to see what GW ends up giving us.

I’m guessing horn plays by the use of a bagpipe type airbag placed in the skeleton’s chest cavity and operated by a small zombie squirrel hidden inside the armour… just sitting there, waiting to press on the bag, then pumping some more air into the bag for later…

I collect exclusively SBGL and have done so since they released. These were literally my top pick units for a refresh, and I’d held off buying them until now, so I’m super happy. I agree that the barrow knights have a weird static/ limp feeling to them, but I’m hoping that’s reflected in the rules as a sort of creeping dread element. Otherwise I’m blown away. Prince V is exceptional and I can’t wait to own him! I’ll be getting one of everything (except the spearhead).

Certainly picking up the army box and the spearhead box. A small skeleton wizard would’ve been a nice addition as only problem I see is maybe limited to no magic, but very very happy with what they are releasing! I already have the original skeleton start collecting box and 40 skeleton warriors (10 Fantasy, 10 cursed city, 20 current).

I am so excited for this. Love to see the nods to the old Barrow Kings from the old Matt Ward White Dwarf article. I have loved that army since it came out. I have been planning and collecting bits for my Barrow Kings army for a long time. Hope I can get my hands on a box. I really wish they would bring the 7th ed WHFB skeleton kit back. Help differentiate the base skeletons and the heavily armored Barrow Guard. There is now 3 iterations of the same skele kit. It was interesting for Cursed City.. but they are too heavily armored and uniform. They should jettison the troubled kit and use Sepulchral Guard as the concept or just make a multi box of them haha. That said, I can't be too mad, the cursed city skeletons gave me helmets to use for my Araby units. Love the new zombie dragon, but will be making a Barrow King on sky chariot to count as VLoZD/ Character. The vampire on nightmare would make for a great Red Duke for ToW. The Duke should be terrorizing the forests right now based on the time line and would be cool if they ever bring VC into the fold, start it with him rather than Von Carsteins.

of course we 'needed' a vampire lord on steed. It was a glaring issue. It was a massive points difference between a vampire lord on foot and then the next step was vampire lord on zombie dragon (or of course, Prince Vordrai). It was pretty much impossible to make an actual Kastelai Dynasty army as you would see in the fluff because your vampire lord was either technically overflying them all the time or on foot by themselvs. Or, if you were weird, on a cushion with some fellow vampire's reclining on meat stuffed cushion divan's in the form of the other kit that the Mortis Engine made. Can't remember what it's called now, the Blood Palanquin? The Sanguinarch?

Looks like new grave guard, new black knights, new vhordrai, new unmounted undead dragon, new lord on regular steed So, my guess is that FEC are gonna get a minor refresh too So, now, the massive overlap in kits among the undead is about to be completely decoupled For a while, with some careful magnets, there was a lot of potential crossover Great designs (I like the new Vampire on steed and dragon, I liked the old wight king better)

My only army is SBL, resurrected from old vampire counts. Honestly am just happy I was too lazy to build and paint vlozd and used proxy terrorgheist instead for a whole year. I can even break even if I get rid of it as a FeC model, wanted to have Vhordrai in my roster anyway.

I'm pretty hyped about this to be fair. Models look great as always and a second spearhead for just skeletons is just cool too. Think the lore was that nagash n someone else were resurrecting the dragons n krondys and gang killed most of them. They also said that you didn't have to take vampires now n that the wight king can lead the skeleton forces 👍

They did state in the lvo full reveal video that these would replace the grave guard and black knights. The question I have is the cavalry and dragon are currently a dual kit. So does that mean new Calvary for nighthaunt and new terrorgheist

I prefer the heroes over the skeletons, generally speaking. I'd love to field an army full of unique characters, elites names fighting the battle gives me a sense of cool, and when they fall you feel the stakes of battle (pun not totally intended)

I do think that Games workshop is ignoring some of the armies that really need an update for example Nurgle haven't been performing well so need a buff but also don't have any ranged options besides the rotmire creed and don't have any artilery at all which is the main meta in AOS4 so far

I play Soulblight since they released them and I bought Cursed City. I really want the new Vampire Lord on Nightmare and the new Zombie Dragon even though I own 2 Vampire lords on Zombie Dragon. I don't need more skeletons. I will get most of the new releases.

I really hope that they get back to some sort of Knights of the crimson keep build. It was really disappointing to see that go away this edition, except for the Prince’s abilities. Also, get rid of the stupid movement rule for blood knights, riders of ruin is silly.

I would like to see more armies of renown around necromancy but which is used to serve order, chaos, destruction. Basically necromancer who use this art in mercenary purposes and of course Nagash is pissed off. Moreover, no matter how great is the upcoming wave for soulblightgravlords things like undead archers, goblins, orcs and other species are big question. Bone drakes as well... Vampire Smiths (who is smiting equipment and armor for those fancy blood Knights and their lords?) Many concepts to add in future.

I'm worried the generic vampire lord on zDragon gets cut. If it does then I'm sure the terrorghist and old dragon are also gone. I personally will be picking up a box of the Barrow Guard for Cursed city. Then if my vampire on ZDragon is squared I'll have to find something to add to my Vyrkos army.

don't know if we are losing the Vampire lord on zombie dragon as that box also makes the terrorgheist and Ghoul King on Terrorgheist. but if it is removed, we will see new Ghoul models also for when they get their Battletome. so they might split up the model with new models.

I did get the "start collecting box" for the gravelords a while back, but I think I will build the vamp lord as the giant bat instead because my god I will not build the dragon after seeing this new one. this is some creature caster quality. after all the shit they have released for 40K they dare to release this. its like their standard for quality is all over the place these days. we get absolute shit like sanguinary guard and crinkling diaper coteaz, and then we get this. like wtf is games workshop doing honestly. put this level of effort into everything for once.

When i first saw the barrow guard and barrow knights i was kind of meh. i think it might have been the paint scheme. They have grown on me. I was a fan of the old grave guard and black knights. If i did a SBG army it would be a very skeleton heavy list so i was hoping for the grave guard & black knight refresh. I'm a little torn on the boxset and so on as i'm not really interested in started a new army at this time. Maybe if it was a DOK release with a bunch of new kits or hedonites. I'm actually selling a good chunk of my armies over the next few months and playing non GW games. I'll have to think on it and hopefully see the other new kits for terrain and endless spells.

I hink I'm going to get this and the strikeforce and I don't even play AoS anymore. Armoured skeletons is peak warhammer; it's like the skaven - you take the element that is iconic (bones) and then put a clothed twist on them and suddenly they become a fully fledged faction. I like the bonereapers, but this is better.

Rob 49 cards now, 55 in the new pack. But an additional spearhead which is 4-5 cards, spells 2-4, terrain 1. In terms of non direct replacements we’re getting 2 brand new units (lesser mounted wight and a mounted vamp). So rough maths says we’re losing 6 warscrolls in total - vlozd, terrorgheist, 3 x coven throne builds & corpse cart? Or rando hexed hamlet heroes? Tbc but it’s a bloated book, cuts ahead
