A "little bit" of rain, lol. Looked like a downpour to me. Another great job of caring about the cow's need to be comfortable & not in pain. So glad you are there to take care of them.

Yes, this...that is far from what I'd call a "little bit of rain." I'd view that as "hunker down and pray that there's no lightning, so that the power doesn't go out" kind of weather!

To anyone who wants to complain about the cow moved he didn't hurt her. He pushed on it and the pain inflated. Notice how after that she stayed put. She felt relief once he got those bubbles happening. Love your work Graeme, Kev and Craigy-boy. Keep making farmers jobs better and bringing comfort back to the few cows like this.

@@WGTNmarineLife I firmly believe that humans have a responsibility to provide good care to the animals we use for food, both out of practicality (healthy animal = healthy food) and out of respect for what they provide to us. Most of the cows he works on are dairy cows, so they're providing sustenance over a long period of time, and deserve to be maintained and well-cared-for throughout that time.

Right about 3:57 she jumps. Ouch! I know you feel bad too. Is there some kind of Lidocaine spray you can use to numb the area when you realize it's sensitive? I don't think it's expensive as it's an older numbing agent. Or maybe you need to watch for their reaction to know what's going on. But thank you for all you do for these sweet girls.

The issue is those sprays and creams only numb the surface of skin wounds and he would need a license and veterinary training to a extent to use injectables

Sometimes what is hurting them is just pressure without any live tissue being revealed. A lidocaine spray would do absolutely nothing on the surface of solid hoof. As someone else mentioned he's not a licensed vet and can't inject, and by the time he has reached live tissue he has opened up the cavity that was holding the pressure causing the pain and relieved the pain as well. As an aside it's not always pain that'll make a cow jump. Sometimes they are just getting impatient to be free again, or they've convinced themselves they have seen a ghost 😅
@emily.letsendbslintheuk554
@emily.letsendbslintheuk554 11 ай бұрын
@@EdieDawnJay exactly, some people don't realise how strict the rules are in the UK concerning things like injectables so can understand questions regarding them (even qualified vet nurses are limited to what they can and can't inject), but these people would also be shocked at how often vets actually sort things out like abscesses without anaesthetic (sometimes it actually causes more pain than it relieves as the pressure that it causes can be very very intense and worse than any blade cutting the area)

Up here in the Pacific NW, we also have liquid sunshine like you that often begins right after a blistering hot day. It's easy to find recent immigrants to the area; when seeing someone using an umbrella, we say, "you're not from around here, are you?" Anyone who's lived here long enough knows that rain is just water, so unless you're an elderly person (who get an instant pass), you are considered to be a green-horn. Good luck living that down!
