I went glide fishing yesterday, caught 3 big smallies, 2 on a TK and 1 on a resin trick shad. Built a MHX swimbait rod myself that way it’s built specific to me. I love fishing the DRT baits for sure, it’s wild how many different ways you can fish em.

My only wish is that instead of bending the rod in hand, I wish i could see the parabolic curve against the floor or another surface so as to really see how the tip is working-but that's my only quip! The reason I do it this way is because I don’t like deflection charts. Sometimes we’ll show it on the floor if it adds. But understanding where it bends is all I want you to know. If I show you a full bend on a reflection chart it’s confusing more than anything with high end rods, because that’s not actually how they bend in real life. 🤘🍻

I own both the LDC 7’9” MH and the Black Jack. They are in my opinion the best rods for the K9 and TK. You can’t go wrong buying either rod.

Hi Ben, thank you for sharing all the great contents. I want to hear your opinion between the black jack and casino. I throw baits from KGB Chad shad/tiny klash up to KGB trout(5.3 OZ). Based on the lure rating, the casino seems to be a perfect rod for me. But since I heard lots of good stuff about the black jack and you said you threw 6oz baits on black jack as well. I wonder which one I should pick up from hook up tackle!

Falcon big bait cara rod is the absolute best rod for the k9 and tk. I’ve had all of the custom rods as well. Isn’t great for soft baits but 1 to 4 oz trebles it’s great.

Ben recommend me the “F7-72XTZ Dragoon” and its became my favorite rod for the TK and top water rod, even use it as a chatter bait or spinner bait when pond hoping 🙌

Anyone fishing from a kayak and specifically throws the TK or 2oz class swimbaits, I recommend the orochi x10 66 destruction. I mostly fish the TK, and the switch from an eight foot rod was remarkable.

I am interested in the P5 Monstrous. One inch shorter, rated one ounce higher, than the Mark 56. Me feeling is that it should be really good for the K9 as well as the Tactical Wake. I have an X4 Destruction that works well for TK sized baits. My Black Jungle Power Versatile has been good for Rats and other 3-4oz baits that I have fished.

That would be a good option also. It has a very long handle, because it’s built to toss big topwaters. For me, it’s too much rod for TK, but it can totally handle it

No one is full sending K9s on the mark 56, it's a 1-2.5oz rod anyone tells you otherwise is high lol

The mark 56 will absolutely NOT throw the K9 - you can lob it in a pinch but its sweet spot is 1 - 2.5oz even 3oz is pushing it.

You could do either. I would do the H, and the XH for baits like the SS250

I got the Orochi launcher on sale specially for TKs and other 2oz and under swimbaits... and crank baits sometime lol. Love 10lbs sniper for jerkbait rod but never used it heavier lines. So for swimbaits in mind is Sunline super coating really that much worse than Sniper? BOGO is tempting but is its more of a one trip and done like line... can we get Sniper BOGO soon lol.

Launcher can handle TK, but not anything larger than that. And, it’s an 8’ rod which is a long rod for TK

It's because the manufacturer doesn't recommend it probably because of liabilities due to breakages but it can handle it and usually works well. Especially when you get to extra heavy plus rods. The black jack is definitely a rod that can handle 6oz. When I throw 2oz it seems like too much rod.

Because there is nothing scientific about rod ratings. It’s all a guess system that the manufacturer uses to get you an idea of the rods capabilities. At the end of the day, you decide a rod’s limits 👍

@@youtubzkoz yeah i ended up impulse buying a f8 jdm levante a month before the sale specifically for osakanas and tks. So i missed the orochi sale. Had buyer remorse a bit when finding out its faster than the US version, but after fishing it a bit I started to really like it. Landed 6 tk fish in 2 trips and didn't have any shake offs so the taper might be fine. But i'm still open to getting a shorter rod for pitching around docks and laydowns.

I use a Shimano Expride B 7'6 XH Mod fast and it will throw anything up to 3oz but rated for 2oz. Its a great rod for soft jig hook and beast hok soft baits and I throw hard glides up to 3oz and its awesome. I use braid to leader. Great rod for me but YMMV
