The HP fish are legit, I love them on the back of a swim jig or just slow rolling them towards the bottom. They definitely catch fish I’ve caught some smallies and some nice largemouth on them. OSP is hands down one of my favorite companies everything they make is amazing. Cheers 🍻 hope you guys are enjoying Japan 🇯🇵 tight lines.

Could any of the HP Fish be used for Flounder and Red Fish?
@ADKyakmanАй бұрын
That’s gonna make smallmouth go crazy. The way it stays perfectly horizontal on the stop and can burn it away from them.. I’ve been absolutely terrorizing giant upstate ny river smallmouth on the bumblebee bee B blade narrow.. But man is that thing awesome , I’d love to try this on the back. As I slow roll it on the bottom pretty slow, but not letting it hang up. Just caught a 18.25 and 17.5 today and a couple Dinks.. 8lbs of smallmouth on two fish tho- and that’s a daily thing w that jig. Any other downsized blades jigs you recommend Ben?

Wait… hook on the top or bottom? Depends on strait vs ewg hook? A bit confused on how to rig.
@lucashawks2160Ай бұрын
In open water he just uses a regular small flipping hook so that the hook point comes out the bottom. I've done this with flukes and topwater toads in the past and it works great. If you ever watch Randy Blaukat (IntuitiveAngling channel) he is a huge proponent of this rigging method. Obviously it does not work in cover.
@DavidBronstein1961Ай бұрын
@@lucashawks2160 well, if it’s good for Randy, it must work 😉
@thehookuptackle_usaАй бұрын
You can do either, but most times rig so hook point is on top
@Kendrix1Ай бұрын
@@lucashawks2160 if it promises to get you an 80th place finish in a tournament like Randy gets I will pass ... Rather go with hook up like Ben recommended
@lucashawks2160Ай бұрын
@@Kendrix1 They are recommending the same thing lol. Toshi does it in the video the same way Randy does. I wasn't saying you should do it because Randy does, I was just giving the initial poster an example of another angler using this rigging method.

Some Elite and Opens pro asking, are they going to win tournaments using this bait? Or it simply a new product similar to the Keitech or Magdrafts?

It’s a tool. It’s a different tool than a Keitech/Magdraft. If it’s an interesting tool for you, then it should give you some fun and good results. If you’re happy with the tools you already have, then great 👍

Love you guys but you sent me the wrong rod (understandable: JDM vs USDM Leviathan; I got the JDM when I ordered the USDM). I spoke with someone nearly a week ago who said they'd correct the problem, and even send a gift card to boot, which is great. Problem is it never takes this long for something to arrive from you to Norcal, and it's been incredibly hard fo get ahold of someone, even after leaving a detailed message 32hrs ago. I fear it was never sent or was lost, as I never got tracking info. Luckily it's been hot here still, but i want to get on the water with this rod soon for the fall swimbait bite. Can anyone help please?
@secretbassrigsАй бұрын
boot tails rise upward and have an unnatural profile silhouette. Wedge tails stay level and displace more water, puting off a more pronounced and natural vibration. Can't wait for a 9" version. Gonna try making a master from modeling clay, them cast a silicone mold of it. Easier done with bigger sizes.
@rumcoke9123Ай бұрын
Im sure they are great but 14 bucks? Ill pass. I catch so many smallies and walleyes on cheap X Zone paddles

@3 bucks a pop I hope it's more than 1 and done. I will try them.

Lots of factors involved, but these will give you a different action/presentation vs a cheaper Paddletail that will hopefully get you bites those won’t 👍
@yousuocai3935Ай бұрын
I love OSP but the price is too high at $3 each...The gross margin will be around 90% if this is manufactured in China. I think it is better to sell at a more reasonable price and recoup reach cost through higher volume.
@thehookuptackle_usaАй бұрын
There’s no good way to respond to this comment, other than to say they’re made in Japan, and you don’t know how pricing works. I get it if you don’t want to spend $3, but if you want to use the HP Fish, that’s the option 👍
