I owned a GTO for 14 years. It was a great car, drove great. Got lots of compliments from car guys. Everyone else though it was a Grand Am lol. The rear end sucked, axles were meh and it was pretty costly to switch over to a better rear end. Parts kind of dried up on them from the low production run. The majority of them that you found wrecked, were front end damaged, if that tells you anything. I sold mine to do a different build.
@HJZ75driver3 жыл бұрын
Mate, if you’re after parts. Go to where the car was built. Australia

@@HJZ75driver Shipping is pretty insane though. Parts here are almost as bad though. I had an suv rear end my GTO while it was parked and pushed it into a truck that was in front very slightly but it bent the hood. 15k worth of damage for a sub 15 MPH crash. The hood alone without paint was 2k. Could of probably been a lot cheaper but it was through insurance.

I honestly think the GTO would have been more popular if they didn't call it a GTO. Or, if it didn't have Pontiac's bland styling of the time. Those GTO's are cool cars tho. I would absolutely love to take out the engine and build it from the ground up, new internals, pistons, ported heads, BTR camshaft kit, new injectors, fuel rails, intake, Magnuson supercharger, heat exchanger, then a custom exhaust, short throw shifter, new ls7 clutch kit, upgrade to Wildwood big brake kit, maybe a pedders coilover kit on it, with some new rims and staggered tires 245s on front 275s on the rear..
