The pressure relief in the valve cover is an INLET!. The scavenger stages in the dry sumps pull oil in to them thus infact creating vacuum in the crankcase and subsequently the head.. typically around 5" of vacuum in regular applications and around 15" when using very low tension piston rings (easier to rotate but smoke like a mother****) so the extra vacuum helps with oil sipping pass the rings.
