Actually it depends, in street racing which is what no-prep racing tries to replicate at times when drivers start spinning the car stays straight and since often times they are using a slick tire it is always trying to regain traction thus pushing the car forward so depending on your suspension and tire setups even while spinning you can make a decent pass if the other person next to you is also spinning or wheelied or is just much slower than you it has been done that someone who does a burnout the whole 1/8th mile will still beat someone who isn't spinning that's in the other lane it has happened but its just unlikely that you will stay straight thereby meaning you would have to lift and then get back into power usually ending in you losing

@@Oliver69420___ Some due it is not in the traditional sense though. They use wheel speed sensors in the front and rear and pull boost/timing out when there is a difference in wheel speed to get the car to hook up. It is used quite often in no-prep and street racing to try and control the boost and to hook up on bad surfaces. Most of the time the wheel speed sensors are used instead to regulate boost by MPH to make a better ramp then boost by gear which is usually relatively set in stone per gear where mph the boost will just keep building and not be broken up by each gear. This is used also to control wheel spin. It does require alot of tuning and testing so some don't use it but those who are properly invested into it and want to be seriously competitive they do. One street race car that is a good example is the Vipers made by Calvo Motorsports since they can make upwards of 2000hp they need some way to control that from when going off of a roll thats where boost by gear and boost by MPH come in and where traction control comes in to get the car to HOOK and BOOK
