When I saw his video the other day putting in the hood pins I knew it wouldn’t hold. Those style latches look nice, but aren’t very secure. And with only 2 of them once the hood flexes they’ll release. Should have 4 across the front and probably 2 more on each side. And either the old school style with the clips or the flush mount ones with the lever that locks them. Those button pop up style latches just don’t hold when under high load and things flexing.

@TheRCTAddict4 жыл бұрын
@@michaelgomez4994making a pure lap-speed comparison at le mans is ultimately meaningless. endurance racing isn't about lap-per-lap speed, it's about reliability. An F1 car would certainly be faster than a GT3 car around Le Mans...but it would break before ever finishing and lose to the GT3s by a country mile, not to mention have to pit for fuel every 2-3 laps. The only problem the 787B ran into in 1991 was a dead headlight and an overheating (but not failed) rear wheel bearing, meanwhile, the C11s (*not* C9s, the 787B never raced the C9, just the 787A) had multiple issues, including a spin, gearbox problem, other undisclosed mechanical problems, and also had to moderate its pace by conserving fuel -- a slowing factor that the 787B did not have, since it was efficient enough that fuel consumption didn't really matter.

Mad respect for you, Rob! I can tell that you put your heart and soul into building that car. I love that you reverse engineered part sizing by counting pixels in a CAD image. As a machinist, I've actually had to do that before for a customer who didn't have a clue how to produce a mechanical drawing of his part. The drawing was missing so many critical dimensions that I had to resort to finding them based on the known dimensions, and pictures of the prototype assembly.

I’ve been coming back regularly to watch this video over the past three years, and I just love everything about it. Hoonigan absolutely rocks! Ken’s incredible sportsmanship during competitions showcases his great spirit. I’m from Germany and grew up playing games like *Need for Speed: Underground 2* and *Colin McRae Dirt*. Ever since Ken Block, together with DC Shoes, started creating the Gymkhana series, I’ve been-although I dislike the term-a true fan of Ken Block. He was not only an amazing athlete but also a wonderful human being. It deeply saddens me that he’s no longer with us, but he passed away doing what he loved most. Rest in peace.

I realized that even if you have everything calculated and think you’re in control, one slip up and its all over. I watched Ken jump a Helicopter in the air with a Rally car, when I found out he died in a snowmobile accident, its one of the few celeb deaths that hit me. He’s one of the very few celebs I thought was cool and just admired, living the absolute dream
