Dance Yourself Dizzy is a DJ's dream come true...every pub I have played this, nobody has left the dance floor...

I was just watching this and thinking what music is missing these days - fun, pure good clean fun. I'm sure there are many that will think of this as just "throw-away", but the un-pretentiousness of it and everybody just enjoying the moment and the music is something you just don't see these days. Sure, the music is not going to tear down any walls or start a revolution, but for three minutes, who cares? Bless you, Liquid Gold - I remember you with fondness, and still smile 30 years later.

I clearly recall hearing Ellie Hope's 1983 solo effort "Lucky" getting some airplay on WBLS in NYC.

It’s just a classic fun floorfiller and party staple. Loved the drummer’s torso being used as a xylophone plus he usually got custard pied lol 😂

I always thought Dance yourself dizzy was a Tina Charles song for some reason? Now after seeing this I remember the singer who must be pining for the old days

I love Liquid Gold…I was 14 when Dance Yourself Dizzy came out - brilliant…what year was this documentary/interview from ? I’m guessing around 2000.

How can they be so negative, they had success.
@peterkin1010 Жыл бұрын
Well yes they did. But tbh, Liquid Gold should have had a successful multi album career spanning a lot longer than it actually did. Sadly luck often plays a part in success and on that occasion their luck spluttered to a halt which is a shame. Its unlikely I'd have ever bought an album but there's a lot less deserving who went further for longer than they did.

late 70s style right here strange how they keep referring it to as 80s when this is all 70s as the early 80s is just another form of the 70s

Sure, in those days looks didn't matter. Even though the music was cheesy, it was still top notch production by professional musicians. I liked Substitute more, and got the impression that Rick Astley's Never gonna give you up was a nod to it. BTW check out this mashup with Adele kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGq8q394o5d-hrs

Makes everything today sound dead, flat and lets face it completely awful. There is no fun anymore in music .....its horrible and you can thank rap for that.
