I go through the same thing fishing in New York City. I've had cops called on me a few times from Karen's accusing me of trying to catch turtles when I'm fishing for carp. I've had the cops trying to tell me I can't fish while I was fighting a carp and I made them Google the park rules that prove I can indeed fish there 😂

I deal with them almost every time when I go pike fishing in canal. Honestly i had the luck to meet some amazing people the last few sessions.

A little game to play with the ones that can’t tend to their own business! It involves wearing a mask and when they get to close you basically raise a ruckus and say back away and stay 7 feet away from me right now! make sure you yell that at them!!! They are usually so astonished and surprised they don’t know how to react and usually turn around and walk away especially if you address them in a somewhat angry manner!!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂

5:16 That is exactly right. You'd think the canals are public. You'd think the rivers are public. But no, they're not. And it's hard to find out who owns a stretch of water. And they have their own silly rules that make absolutely no sense. They're people that were given control over a stretch of water and they're milking it for money while doing absolutely nothing in exchange. They're not maintaining the habitat. They're not cleaning it. They're not repopulating with fish. This is why you're not allowed to take fish, by the way, so they don't have to repopulate. The rod licence you buy should be enough to fish in any publicly owned water. That should be made law. And what's sad is that the right to roam people hate fishermen because, from their point of view, it's the fishermen that don't let them paddle down rivers. In reality, it's the water owners that make life difficult for all of us.

I'm not a huge carp fisherman. Usually, cut them up for bait if I catch them. But the areas you fish are so cool. I'll def be watching your channel more :) You need to come to the States and fish Wyoming. Most the land is blm (public) land, sooooooo much fishing. Plus cold water trout, pound for pound, are some of the hardest fighting fresh water fish you can catch. So much fun :)

I dont freshwater fish, but I go sea fishing, which also includes the tidal part of the River Medway, vast areas of the river front that was council owned, flats have now been built and thevowners didnt like the fishing, so they are now no fishing. But my worst Karen encounter was on a beach, where I had cut up what had been frozen mackeral for bait and had this Karen screaming at me and threatening to call the police as she thought it and the lugworm I had next to it were disgusting.

You need to work on your netting lads and try not to lift them in a net when they are bigger, try to use a weighing/retention sling and make sure the fins are flush to their body so you dont damage them.

I fail to see the enjoyment you get from catching carp, no matter how big they are. Theyre like catching an old boot, theres rately any fight in them, and while they might be edible after putting them on fresh, clean water for around three days, the flesh is bland and softly under-firm, and full of blood filled black veins. Theyre a disgusting fish. Here in Australia they have invaded the lower reaches of all our rivers and creeks and they inhabit most of our lakes. They are also in large numbers around brackish eturine waters. We regard them as an ugly, slimy, disgusting pest and they are officially classed as a noxious introduced nuisance species. When people catch them they mostly leave them on the bank, for the river rats and feral cats to eat.

I took it down as I realised there were parts of the upload where the frame rate had been reduced significantly. This was likely due to a technical issue with youtube's compression system during the uploading process, which apparently does that occasionally. It's an issue I wasn't previously aware of, as it's the first time it happens with one of my uploads. In my opinion it made for a bad viewing experience, so I decided it was best to just re-upload the video. I've done just that, and the newly published version was uploaded correctly this time!
