These days, they seem so long Feel the burn of a sunny song It's the sound, the sound of summer (sound of summer) Oh, hey, summer season, we meet again You're sizzling hot mess, we're six sultry men You're twenty degrees and we're eager to please I'm a naked man under my dungarees The sun is so hot but it's so far away I'm not gonna pop any sunblock on today I take off my top, I walk around the block And I come back redder than Santa's sleigh I got my saxophone and a sweet, sweet drive I take the roof down, gonna play while I ride I'm a drop-top sax guy, I'm jamming a jam You honk your horn, just another summer fan These days, they seem so long. Feel the burn of a sunny song It's the sound, the sound of summer (sound of summer) Well I work in town, got an hour's commute Sweat pouring down in my nylon blue suit The kids are off school, they're already bored Got two weeks off cause that's all I could afford I don't like the summer, it's much too hot for me I've got bad skin you see Shorts were not designed for these, they look like Mister Freeze No one should ever see my knees (my knees) These days, they seem so long Feel the burn of a sunny song It's the sound, the sound of summer (sound of summer) I pull up at the lights and I pull out my sax I'm playing 'Careless Whisper' for the cool, for the cats I play my sax in the summer, rent a convertible I don't mind a flood at all I take off all my clothes, off in the car I put my sax up to my lips And out comes 'Total Eclipse' These days, they seem so long Feel the burn of a sunny song It's the sound, the sound of summer (total eclipse of the heart) These days, they seem so long Feel the burn of a sunny song It's the sound, the sound of summer (sound of summer) (total eclipse of the heart) These days, they seem so long Feel the burn of a sunny song (feel the burn) It's the sound, the sound of summer (sound of summer) (total eclipse of the heart) (total eclipse of the heart) (total eclipse of the heart) (total eclipse of the heart) .. the rhyming structure is unusual

Hello, good people, I need some help with the lyrics. I think I got most of it, but there are a few question marks. Here's what I figured out (with some comments in *bold*): These days, they seem so long, feel the burn of a sunny song. *(Is that right?)* It's the sound, the sound of summer, the sound of summer. Oh, hey, summer season, we meet again. You're a sizzling hot mess, we're six sultry men. You're twenty degrees, and we're eager to please. I'm a naked man under my dungarees. The sun is so hot, but it's so far away, I'm not gonna pop any sunblock on today. I take off my top, I walk around the block, And I come back redder than Santa's sleigh. I got my saxophone and a sweet, sweet drive, I take the roof down, gonna play while I ride, I'm a drop-top sax guy, a-jammin' a jam, You honk your horn, just another summer fan. These days, they seem so long, feel the burn of a sunny song. It's the sound, the sound of summer, the sound of summer. Well, I work in a town, got an hour's commute, Sweat pouring down in my nylon blue suit. The kids are off school, they're already bored, Got two weeks off, cause that's all I can afford. I don't like the summer, it's much too hot for me, I've got bad skin, you see. Shorts were not designed for these, *(not sure about that...)* They look like Mister Freeze. No one should ever see my knees, my knees! These days, they seem so long, feel the burn of a sunny song. It's the sound, the sound of summer, the sound of summer. I pull up at the lights, and I pull out my sax, I'm playing Careless Whisper for the cool *(something)* cats, I play my sax in the summer and rent a convertible. I don't mind a flood at all. I take off all my clothes off in the car, I put my sax up to my lips. And out comes Total Eclipse. These days, they seem so long, feel the burn of a sunny song. It's the sound, the sound of summer...
@BethanyLowe87734 жыл бұрын
Hi Oliver, great work! I think your queried lines are correct. I can't hear what the cool cats are but will keep listening. I think it's "I jam in a jam", because although yours makes sense, this has the added pun element meaning "I improvise jazz in a traffic jam". Also I looked up Mr Freeze and I can't see the resemblance! - I think it's there for rhyme and wintriness :) Thanks for doing this.

The only thing I can find is in the last verse: "I don't mind a flirt at all" but that could be my Canadian accent making it sound different
@BethanyLowe87734 жыл бұрын
Is it "cool former cats"? implying they are not cool any more (or not 'cats' any more)? Then I might expect "former cool cats", but that doesn't sing as well.
@laurencenoble36294 жыл бұрын
Cool summer cats. And yeah I'd say it's flirt not flood
