100% agree, hearing them discuss that made my heart grow big. My partner and I had same discussion after having our daughter: any zombie apocalypse or world craziness, whichever one of us is with our daughter or closest to our and rescue her and to heck if the other partner makes then great, and if not it sucks; but main priority is our daughter. Loved this reaction and and your interactions with each other!

To me the shot of the two zombies in the church, turning around and looking up at the balcony (right at the camera) is the most terrifying shot in a horror movie of all time. It never fails to send chills down my spine. And it's so ridiculous to know that Cillian Murphy is 26 in this movie. Makes me feel old even though he's way older.

Fun fact about the filming of this movie: they had to film a lot of the deserted street scenes early in the morning so they could have the feel of an abandoned city. They also closed off some streets to ensure that empty street feel
@nuttygeezer8307 ай бұрын
There is also a shot where you can see a guy walking in the distance because he didn’t care they was filming
@dartigens104 ай бұрын
They also didn't have the budget for any filming permits, and were denied a permit to film in front of 10 Downing Street - but did it anyway. IIRC, despite that I'm sure some people who saw this would have had the connections to know that no permits had been issued, nobody was ever fined for any of it. (The director has said that he was ridiculously lucky with timing, filming in 2001 - had he been trying to film this after September of that year, he's pretty sure that they wouldn't have gotten away with it.)

14:40 Fun fact: there is a Marvel Zombies comic series with Infected spiderman and others. Their hunger is so massive that they go to other timelines and eat everything they can. In one of them the (Infected) Spiderman eats the sinister six and it scares Sandman so badly that he jumps inside his spiderman's mouth and explodes him from the stomach out. It's fucked up lol

They didn't have the budget to close any roads. Danny and Cillian filmed this at dawn with traffic marshals, one was danny's daughter- they were all female. They managed to get 2 minutes of film on DV cameras. They snuck the overturned bus in front of #10 after losing permission. This is before 9/11. 28 YEARS LATER with Danny,Alex and Cillian is in production as we speak. It is a new trilogy- Sony chairman confirmed Cillian will star in #2 and #3 with a cameo in the first.
@HiZombieKitty Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the opening scene is in London Waterloo, one of the busiest cities in Central London. The crew had to film at 2 or 3am on Sundays to get the emptiness and isolated feel. It's extremely impressive and is still held as one of the best opening scenes in horror.

There's noooo way the tiny budget could shut down London bridge, picadilly cirfusy, etc. They were able to block it off for 1 hour every day, that includes set dressing, around 5:00am. That's why the sky is pinkish. I am Legend couldn't shut down Times Square and that was less square footage. it was filmed in 2001; 9/11 happened during filming. Undoubtedly a contributing factor to why this tiny British film that did meh in Britain was hugely popular in the States was a population 1) just starting to go back to theaters 2) something somber and apocalyptic resonated.

Hey, don't feel bad Sergio. Even though this movie puts Killian Murphy on my radar and introduced me to my new crush/obsession, I mispronounced his name for a couple of years, at least, after I saw this movie, because I'd never heard anybody actually say it out loud and it looks like it should be pronounced like an S. it's a very Irish way of spelling it. Kind of like Ciaran Hinds, whose name sounds like Kieran. I mispronounced it for years. But of course, that's a very European way to spell it, and no one would know how to pronounce it unless someone told them

Some fun little titbits for you The petrol station scene seems so irrelevant - why would Jim go into a place that’s so obviously going to have infected in it? He basically wants to prove to himself that he’s got it in him to kill an infected and protect his new family. The irony of that is it’s a kid he kills. When it comes to the blockade, the military men likely knew that Frank would be a problem if they took him in. A father who’s quite big and clearly very protective of his family - he’d be difficult to handle if he found out about what they planned to do with his daughter. So they waited for an excuse to kill him early in the hopes of avoiding that problem later on. They just didn’t bet on Jim being able to use brains over brawn to take them down. This film is so cleverly written it’s insane
