I was fortunate to be able to watch most for the tournament. I watched mostly Madison and Elise Bolton; what a tournament for both ladies.

Round 3, let’s just say she Packy’d them. 😃 I didn’t think in the match play she threw it that bad at all, but dang she paid max penalty on a lot of her misses. Example, in block 3 of match play she went, spare, spare, strike, 7-10, strike, 7-10, strike. That’s just difficult to score.

She bowled great too. Saw it all on her channel. Madison seemed so much more relaxed on her US Open videos than she seemed in her previous less important tournaments….Maybe the higher scores helped or maybe it was having her favorite cameramen there.

Two observations: (1) the pins had a tendency to be reluctant to fall even after a good hit/getting hit; (2) it appeared that at the top of the backswing, her hand/ball seemed to swing clockwise a bit. It was hard to tell, being somewhat dim and my old eyes don't see that fast anymore. I've also seen a lot of one-handed do it similarly (Tommy Jones). Is that to increase ball spin at the release point? I was old school (60s-90s) and kept my swing/hand/arm pretty straight. Thsnks.
