I believe it’s called rule 8 in usbc, but house balls are excluded from the hole rule. So packy doesn’t have to use all holes.

Same challenge but instead of using same ball each frame, you have to switch ball every roll. Start with lower weight ball. Every strike would switch which ball is thrown on the first roll. Challenge could be done with a regular ball and plastic/spare ball as well.

Men in the pba use a 14! With my black widow 3.0 (gas mask core) I drop the pins better than any of my 15 0r 16's... so theres that. I have a 212 average in league.

I still throw 14lbs. I started with that back in 1995 when I got into bowling, because my right shoulder had sustained several injuries. Finally had reconstructive surgery on it in 2007 and took some time away from bowling. When I got back into it, I kept throwing 14 because it is what I was used to, as far as with my release. Looking at the numbers on most balls today, there's very little difference between 14lb and 15lb. The RG and Diff are nearly identical in many of them.

14 is going to deflect more, but I'm of the opinion 14 is the lowest you should go if you wanna be "competitive" in a league or something. Once you go lower than that shots start getting inconsistent in my experience.

@robdavideogamer4119 in most balls, the core is a different shape under 14lbs, which is why it will play so much differently. But things like RG, Diff, and intermediate diff are almost identical between 14lb and 15lb. With how you say it, someone that throws 15lbs should throw 16lbs, because it weighs more and thus will deflect less.

@douglasiles2024 Eh, kinda? I went up to 16 because throwing fifteen was way too fast for me, even purposefully slowing down. It's deflects less yes, but the difference is minimal. Though I did basically stop leaving flat 10s and graduated to stone 8s
