I've got 3 pit bulls, 1 in the front, and 2 in the back on each side of the yard. Having said that, their worthless as a security system compared to the 2 Peking ducks that live under the porch. If a blade of grass moves, or a flipping leaf falls off a tree in the middle of the night, they flip out and start quaking like crazy and loud. Their not like chickens that roost at night and sleep, no sir, I can walk outside to piss if it's late and they will be in the pool swimming around like it's 3 in the afternoon and their just taking a dip in the pitch black dark of night. I'd like to get me an ostrich for a guard animal but the wifey won't let me. I think that would be awesome to gave an ostrich to run trespassers down and kick they're guts out. I wouldn't have to feed my pig if I had trespasser guts laying around in the yard. That would save me money, and saving money makes me happy.

My vacation terrain is 300 meters above ground whit a 4'5 meters wall/fence 1 km before the terrain starts going up (surrounding the whole thing) Inside we have basically a regulated ecosystem, and surrounding that higher ground is a Forrest.(both the low ground inside the wall and outside) In the higher ground ecosystem we have wild animals, from herbivores to carnivores, no domestic animals, to bring domestic animals the responsibility is to the one who brought them. Inside the terrain, in the inner area, we have another, much smaller area, that's where the house and a normal size terrain are, which is separated from the surrounding Contained ecosystem by another wall. We also have small houses in other areas of the terrain for the persons in charge of maintenance. We have cameras on every house. ... I Don't think I'm worried about my security there, especially since even if someone had intentions we could treat them just like wolfs, boars and their bodies would be eaten before anyone even noticed. As someone smart once said: "attacking is the best defense"
