Thank you so much for your hard work to explain it so well that I can understand. I had my diet change dramatically to raw carnivore diet since last month due to my severe bad histamine reaction to all food. I cannot eat any cooked food, and only able to tolerate very flesh raw venison meat, otherwise I would be in hell. I believe it is caused by my ability to digest and also worsen the immune system by having the leaky gut. Your digestion series really help me to understand and diagnose my own problem. Surprisingly, my body is able to recover slowly after 30 days of right diet with the help of stomach acid and enzyme like the one you had suggested in the second series, even I had damaged it badly over more than two decades of very so called “healthy” food by the experts. May you and your family be well and happy.

Only thing that stopped my sticky poop/diarrhea were antibiotics for something completely unrelated (uti infection) any time I had to take it, my poop would go back to clean swipe and food better digested for a month or 2. After that 2 months are gone its been to undigested food and hot stinky persistent gas. Two instances when I took this antibiotic 4 months apart, I noticed this. Green tea use to help aswell, but not anymore. It's been a year now that I'm affected by this. :(

I experience very different stool patterns all the time. Sometimes it's loose and greasy and other time it's hard. One thing I noticed was when I have high consumption of oily foods I get very very greasy stools. And ever since I'm having unusual stools I feel whatever I'm eating isn't getting absorbed. I've gone underweight and weak with dull skin, brittle dry hair. Recently got thyroid diagnosed dur to increased antibiodies. Hair falling out with low vitamin d and ferritin (which has gone up from 22ng/mL to 63ng/mL). I believe I'm not absorbing fats could be the reason for low vitamin d and all other fat soluble vitamins. I don't know where to start from. How do I fix my body? It's depressing. I need help. 😫

Excellent info. New subscriber. Thanks for your efforts. I am a recent pancreaticoduodenectomy patient...8 months ago... followed by chemo for 3 months. Taking CREON now for last month or so. Bowel movements are different now... stools are much shorter since operation, even with enzymes. Any idea what that would be attributed to? Lack of bile because of gall bladder being removed? Portion of duodenum? I was under the impression that stool formation occured in the large intestine.
@TheHumanCondition
@TheHumanCondition 2 жыл бұрын
Yes it does dehydrate in the large intestine, but its digested by bile and compacted by muscular peristaltic contractions. After a surgery both may be reduced due to trauma and inflammation, besides the original reason for the surgery-the organs needed removal for some reason. The net change in stool is usually related to bile quality and peristalsis, at least in the literature. The colon is ruled by the bile as I read the bowel literature; let me know what you think. I hope you get well fully and soon!

I don't have a gall bladder, had it taken out, June 2020 and Stones. I am guessing, but I feel my Bile was sluggish and caused issues with the gall bladder, and that's why I had both of them taken out. At the same time of these 2 health issues, I even had Erosion Esophagus, Gastritis and GERD. I went through "H#LL BECAUSE OF IT. At I have Low Stomach Acid and Hiatal Hernia (recently found out about Hiatal hernia) . If I didn't ask to have an "EGD test " I would never know about it. I am NOT sure where the Bile stays if the gall bladder not there to storage the Bile. .

The ductwork within the liver and pancreas are large and expansile. They hold much bile when the GB is removed. most people with your type of problems in my experience are reacting to processed or starchy foods, lectins, fibers and even heavy metals or pesticides or fluoride. Zinc deficit can contribute to low stomach acid too. Gas formation from maldigestion can drive GERD and hiatal hernia mechanically, and I have seen all these resolve after GB removal in hundreds of cases over 30 years. Watch Paul Saladino, Zoe Harcombe, Paul Mason and Ken Berry on fiber, lectins, and digestive problems.

You indicated the importance of symptom timing in order to troubleshoot source of issues. I seem to occasionally have flatulence 5-10 minutes after eating . Is that even possible to happen that fast? How could things move through that quickly given the length of the intestines.
@TheHumanCondition
@TheHumanCondition 2 жыл бұрын
The gastro-colic reflex is a weak reflex triggered by food entering the stomach. If there is food or liquid swallowed and it hits the stomach, and there is gas in the rectum, it may be triggered to be expelled out by this central neurological reflex. The gas must already be there under low pressures-a dysbiosis of some kind usually related to bile insufficiency can be common sources of this type of symptom. Let us know what you find.

Hats off for such a good video :) also such a wise answers in comments, really appreciate. If I may, I would love to know your opinion on betaine HCl. Is it okay it person needs like 8 or more tablets per larger meal to succesfully digest proteins? I talk long term wise, from some practicioners I heard it can affect stomach lining which sounds very strange to me. So, 3 tablets = peanut butter stool, 8 or more, no acid reaction and stool much better. Is it the same as with digestive enzymnes and bile salts? No dependency on external source and no "side effects"? Thank you very much for answer
@TheHumanCondition
@TheHumanCondition 2 жыл бұрын
I took a lot of betaine HCL in college for my stomach acid. I found that a lot was well tolerated by friends and patients, (I worked for a doc) and only ulcer was contraindicated. For those that feel burn with HCL or enzymes, we would give DGL licorice to restore healthy mucus lining of the gut. I later learned that plant lectins and other antinutrients from plant defenses can inhibit digestive juice secretion, and I changed to a clean animal based diet. It took weeks to get my gallbladder online and bowels, but then it was better than ever. I have used low lectin diets to address low stomach acid, chronic pancreatitis, Crohn's disease and IBS and ulcerative colitis and more in many hundreds of patients. Everyone please be wary of proton pump inhibitor drugs. So in summary: Bet HCL is super safe, but look out for H-pylori (I use a urea breath test) and consider dietary proteins such as lectins that mess up digestion worse than red meat sometimes.
@daliborchytil1408

@@TheHumanCondition Thank you, appreciate your answer :) as a chemist I understand those mechanics. If I may, you recommend to take betaine HCl before meal? Or while eating? Some folks even say after eating (Wade Lightheart said that in podcast, he said after meal because first stage of digestion is enzymatic), would love to know your opinion cuz lot of doctors have different opinions including Dr. Berg. Plus, have you came across LPR (silent reflux), do you have any tips for that?
@TheHumanCondition
@TheHumanCondition 2 жыл бұрын
You know, I tend to ask each patient to try and see becasue there is some biological variance for dissolving time and pH differences in the stomach which drive these enzyme reactions. Some people paradoxically need a little water with food becasue of a histamine problem that regulates stomach water, even though commonly it is advised to not drink with meals + enzymes. Regarding LPR, my bias is toward the mechanisms of hypochlorhydria =low stomach acid (I will speak at a 5th grade level despite your extensive education for my audience benefit) and lectin reactions, and histamine reactions. In addition, I see vagal nerve weakness which is often from brain or brainstem concussion or chronic PTSD. I cant for get medication and polypharmacy is a real cause, but my typical population tends to be already super healthy and come to me for opinions after doing everything "right" and clean in alternative medicine. Low stomach acid and chocolate can cause weak cardiac sphincter in the stomach through a few mechanisms, so it seems paradoxical that we would give acid to cure acid reflux, but that's the cause in all the literature and it work unless there is an ulcer or H pylori infection in the gut. So we use methods to fit each problem: zinc lozenges to stimulate acid, we use lemon juice, we use gargling and vagal stimulation massage and brainstem exercises, we use elimination diets to reduce histamine, oxalates, and lectins and low cab diets. We support the bile too because that usually goes together with stomach issues. We welcome your professional chemistry comments and they help our audience understand deeper thanks again.

I have a controversial opinion- I tell people to get blood work and a physical exam and then try no fiber, try carnivore after finding a good doctor if they need one. Clean grass fed red meat and animal food can be healthy for pooping and many other conditions, as well as lifestyle management for wellness. See The Carnivore Code by Paul Saladino MD, and Dr. Ken Berry MD on KZbin, and so many others on LowCarbDownUnder, and most of all see the heart disease dietary-fat-heart hypothesis myths with the Fat Emperor Ivor Cummins. Some people have an underlying neuroautoimmune condition or injury so may need a neurologist in rare cases.

Low stomach acid often responds to zinc lozenges at 25 mg daily for many adults. It goes with poor bile, and yes I use digestive enzymes to help recover bile. I think many plant fibers and lectins inhibit bile production so elimination can help. I may get cut for this but try it and tell me before they censor me.

@TheHumanCondition
@TheHumanCondition Жыл бұрын
Typically stomach acid responds to zinc or extra acid like lemon juice or raw apple cider vinegar, while bile responds to lecithin or oxbile, and not vice versa. Low stomach acid usually causes belching and reflux within 3 hours of meals, and poor bile usually shows as symptoms more than 3 hours after a meal, and manifest in the colon and by stool changes.

enzymes, taurine, lecithin, spread out fat across meals at first, cut seed oils, use saturated fat slowly at first, reduce lectins and fiber, cleanse heavy metals. Shortest answer I ever gave.

Hi Doctor I am observing undigested food in my stool since two months. Apart from that , I am feeling some pungent smell, when I eat curry leaves. Some gas also coming some times. But i didnt have any other digestion problems like vomiting and extra. Please help me how can i solve my problem. My stool is not sticky but dry in nature. I visited hospital, thought undigested food due to kidney problem. But doctor certified my kidney looks normal. Please help me. Thanks Sreenivasa reddy

Please understand that I cannot provide specific advice for you on this platform, so I will offer some perspective: I like the work of Dr. Ken Berry, MD on KZbin where he explains the various types of stool inclusions that occur from plant materials, and never from meat, although fatty stools are a phenomenon, however different from what you describe. I realize the idea that wholesome plant foods and fibers may contribute to indigestion is a new concept, but I remain committed to observation and he is onto something-undigested meat is not ever seen in stool. Maybe less plants for a time will help many more people if they can find tolerable animal foods to consume. Kidney problems do not usually result in maldigestion-is it possible you mean pancreas, liver or gallbladder instead? Food for thought. Please let us all know what happens with you.

New subscriber here! Your videos are very informative and educational, thank you for taking the time making them! Would you please make a video how to gain weight for skinny people. Going to the gym, exercising and having rich diet (Mediterranean diet, no fast food Al all), I hardly gain one kilogram, but once I stop exercising and eat rich diet of protein I start losing weight very fast. If I don’t exercise I will be losing wait, if doesn’t matter how much I eat and sleep. Thank you doctor if you have any ideas what could be the problem, I went to so many doctors and I did a lot test and everything looks normal except I was diagnosed with Helicobacter pylori, so I took the treatment (antibiotics for 10 days), but I have been struggling for weight gain all my life since I was a child and I’m now 38 years old, any advices about probiotics, enzymes…?

Yes, Ruled.me has a keto calculator for body building (not intense) for your macros-fat, carbs, protein grams and total calories. It is a great way to add weight safely. I cut seed oils and lectins and add saturated fat for these patients, and I add trace minerals and omega 3s. sometimes the weight will not stick because of heavy metal toxicity, and in another person metals make them fat. Go figure; biochemical individuality. Let us know what happens.

Dr what about gilbert syndrome? Do you think is a good idea to take bile suplement or lecithin?
@TheHumanCondition
@TheHumanCondition 3 жыл бұрын
Generally modern medicine doesn't offer much for Gilberts syndrome, because they say it tends to settle down by itself. I think that flares of this genetic disease can be triggered by stress and other daily imbalances in diet, so the liver bile function can be supported with gentle supplements like those and with diet and symptom monitoring. I think people could benefit from lying on their left side and learning to gently massage their own gallbladder too.

What if you have undigested food in stools
@TheHumanCondition
@TheHumanCondition 3 жыл бұрын
If we see undigested food in stool, we have either got a problem of insufficient digestion or just lots of raw whole food. We have to figure it out. Single foods undigested such as whole corn or oats can be a transient trivial variation of normal or seasonal plants. Raw food like whole corn kernels are quite common to see emerge as undigested without a problem associated with it, except to say that some nutrients remain locked up in the husk sometimes. other times only the indigestible fiber is left and that is often normal. When we see class of nutrient be undigested, such as the "peanut butter stool" that is sticky undigested protein, or floating oil or fat, then we have a categorical digestion problem that may be greater. I don't like to see people lose muscle so I measure body fat percentage, although it is not totally accurate, it can help discover when people are truly losing the good parts of their weight like muscle and bone vs burning fat away or shedding water weight. Sarcopenia or cachexia is the loss of the good parts due to disease. We want to lose weight due to good metabolism and not due to poor absorption. A doctor may measure fecal fat, bio-impedance, or more esoteric metabolic markers in body fluids to determine what we may be wasting from our bodies. Many people simplify their diet when they feel indigestion and see stool changes, and they get back on track. Some use probiotics and notice a return to normalcy. Healthy stool is a surprise to some people and we try to show them how very large healthy adult stools are, and it can be shocking to realize.

I have ulcerative Colitis taking mesalamine but since last year I started losing weight slowly, calprotectin showed high inflammation 219 (which looks like resolved with high dose of UC med and aloe Vera juice) but EPI test showed really low markers so I started beef pancreas enzymes and HCL with pepsin it worked before but looks like not working any more as I am losing weight again:( I had my abdomen CT scan pancreas protocol couple of months ago and my GI said it’s fine also I never experienced any pain After watching your videos I started taking Zinc lozenges today. Is Zinc carnosine same? Will taking lecithin, Ox bile and Taurine be helpful? Please any suggestion would be helpful thanks
@TheHumanCondition
@TheHumanCondition 2 жыл бұрын
Its so hard to tell with this format. Consider chronic pancreatitis with your doctor, and also good idea about zinc lozenges. Zn carnosine is a good option too it can help digestion. There are no definitive tests for chronic pancreatitis sometimes fecal chymotrypsin and fecal pancreatic elastase. Its not the same as acute pancreatitis. Most bile and large intestine inflammation has bile at the root of the problem when we see calprotectin high. Full and complete bloodwork is important, and then less orthodox panels such as organic acids, total bile acids, stool tests, walsh panels, and other options. Please keep us informed.

How can bile reflux be cured naturally?
@TheHumanCondition
@TheHumanCondition 3 жыл бұрын
Well, we cannot say cure legally, so we begin with assessment and lab tests. Usually its acid reflux, not bile reflux, so we assess and then try stomach acid support and or bile support. If assessment makes sense, my colleagues and I tend to apply zinc lozenges, natural stomach acid support, mucus layer support, rule out other illnesses, try bile acids, ox bile, dietary restrictions, and macro ratios of protein, fats and carbs, and sometimes food separation (food combining charts). It can be difficult, but it can also be surprisingly easy sometimes. A small percent of people will have real disease, or nasty genetics that make it really difficult. Please share your experience with us!

Generally digestive aids tend to strengthen secretions, not reduce them. There is a thing called negative feedback in neurotransmitters and hormones, where taking outside drugs reduces the output of the organs that produce them naturally, but that mechanism is not operating in digestion. Generally the more we take outside digestive enzymes and ox bile, lemon and zinc for example, the more -not less- healthy our digestive secretions become. Here is an example; we use this very concept to restore the pancreas in chronic pancreatitis (not acute) by giving supplemental enzymes for a long time and the pancreas can recover. This is well established in literature. Keep us informed. It can take weeks if it is simple, and months if the pancreas is weak. Test for this include blood test called pancreatic amylase. lipase, elastin and a stool test called chymotrypsin. Good luck and tell us what happens next.
