In regards to zinc I keep finding conflicting information. Some sources say zinc is needed to produce stomach acid but others say taking zinc supplements will turn off gastric acid production. Have you found anything regarding zinc and it stopping gastric acid production? Places like Harvard state zinc supplements can turn off gastric acid production better than omeprazole. This worries me as I’m looking to fix my heartburn not worsen it

zinc lozenges have worked in my practice on hundreds of children over 30 years for hypochlorhydria.

Hello. Very interesting videos. May I ask a question? A ton of people, including me, report the following issues: GI issues (diarrhea that slowlt became more of a constipation, clay colored stool, slightly less in size), heat rash (non-palpable, light pink, leaves a barely noticeable blotchy skin underneath), white particles in the urine (but with both urine samples and cultures showing no proteinuria, leukocytes or indication of bacteria). There are also reports of normal kidney function, sense of dehydration in the skin, some report very mild episcleritis too. So the question is, provided that indeed the kidney and urine tests are clean and patient is not febrile etc, could bile really be the issue? Or a specific infection? What would your course of action be? Flow cyrometry? Colonoscopy?
@TheHumanCondition Жыл бұрын
well, depending on the budget and location/availability (I am used to poverty medicine in some cases) we may suspect bile and lectins, and just do an elimination diet or colonics after a physical exam and history. Certainly we could run a HIDA test but these often don't show pathology when the patient has a "functional lesion" that is not bad enough to qualify for disease but generates symptoms. The literature points to a high degree to bile quality problems in cases of stool and skin problems. It has worked in hundreds of cases for me.

Thank you for this video. Eloquently explained. Who should not take Betaine HCL?
@TheHumanCondition3 жыл бұрын
Great question. While this is not the only answer, the most common answer is those with a stomach or duodenal ulcer should not take the HCL. Reflux is more common then ulcers and they are the opposite problem but they feel like the same burning sensation, so it is hard to tell the difference by symptoms. Also, we don't tend to give HCL to small children. Use your judgment. Thank you for watching our channel.

Thank you doc! Any supplements for sibo candida and h.pylori infections?
@TheHumanCondition2 жыл бұрын
Short chain fatty acids like butyrtic acid are useful for sibo, so are digestive enzymes and a low fiber and low lectin diet. For candida, we restrict carbs but the carnivores can eat raw fruit to some degree in some cases. H pylori may require drugs, and it can be passed from pets so kiss your animals but not on the lips and tongue. Some common herbs can fight H-pylori but if the breath test is positive, it is tough to kill.

Thanks for the video . 3 months ago , I eradicated helicobacter pylori with triple treatment ( test negative ) and I got my endoscopy and it shows chronic non specific gastritis .. ( no pylori ) I took pantoprazole for 3 weeks and no relief .. I started a natural protocol with slippery elm Licorice powder and marshmallow powder and zinc.. I am eating very very clean , no triggering foods .. why it takes so long to heal the gut ? I know everyone is different but when will I get relief ? My upper stomach burns .. even though I eat clean for the last 3 months I am still having this burning sensation .. why is this happening ?
@TheHumanCondition3 жыл бұрын
While we cannot give specific medical advice in this forum, we can comment about general issues. Remember that healthy gut linings replace their cells every 6 days, but unhealthy guts can take a lot longer. Whenever some treatment is not working, we have to ask ourselves 1) does it just take longer and I need to stay the course? 2) is it the correct treatment dose? 3) is it the correct treatment at all? 4) is the diagnosis or assessment correct and complete in the first place? A second opinion visit can often help, and sometimes seeking a clinician of a different discipline for the same problem can help. For example, if someone seeks a GP medical doctor for gastritis, then they see a nutritionist or a chiropractor, or an acupuncturist they may get different assessments of the root cause of the problem. The western diagnosis often does not tell us enough about the root causes. Last, a good review of timelines can help assess many chronic conditions. This means carefully writing down all the factors that may have contributed to a complaint and the dates they occurred, such as injuries, stressful events, infections, treatments, surgeries, and other possible triggers. A deeper medical history is responsible for 90% of diagnosis and we cannot do that here. Specialists can be helpful, but when clinically stuck, try to find a clinician who is skilled at and who can help you construct a timeline medical history, and even if they are a podiatrist they may do more to help than any specialist. 🙂 Keep us informed and let us know what you learn on your health journey so we all can grow.

Is there a use for citric acid pellets nutritionwise?
@TheHumanCondition2 жыл бұрын
It is used in cooking and cleaning for mild acidity and is pretty safe for most people, some get mouth sores or skin reactions.
@TheHumanCondition2 жыл бұрын
It can be used to aid hypochlorhydria, the cause of reflux, but I tend to use Raw apple cider vinegar or lemon juice-both have potassium that buffers somewhat. Zinc deficit is often the root cause, as it is a cofactor required for acid production in the parietal cells of the stomach HCL factory.

@TheHumanCondition Жыл бұрын
I like Zand Zinc lozenges myself, and I do like the breath test for HPylori. The antibody test is not useful becasue most people carry benign levels of H pylori that is under control so the breath test reveals if one has a large crop of H pylori throwing off urea into the breath. Starving the buggers of carbs can work or antibiotics, or herbs.

What would cause stools to be shorter in length .. after having Whipple surgery. Is this normal? None of the large bowel was touched, but part of stomach, small intestine and whole gall bladder was removed.
@TheHumanCondition2 жыл бұрын
Stool changes are common after surgery, often the interruption in secretions as well as peristaltic contractions drive this. some people benefit from abdominal massage or castor oil packs after recovery, and others need bile supplements.

How long have you had it?
@TheHumanCondition Жыл бұрын
An ulcer can be screened for, and if it is not an ulcer, one could pursue bile support too, or zinc supplementation, or H-pylori breath test. Lectins can drive chronic gastritis and strip zinc from the stomach and intestine. We need zinc for stomach acid.
@akwasibaffourawuah46913 жыл бұрын
I have been talking PPI for long time now.. so if I take zinc lozenges my stomach acid would increase for my esophagus sphincter to close tight.i have GERD, esophagustis and ulcers in my stomach.. H Pylori is negative.
@TheHumanCondition3 жыл бұрын
While we cannot ever respond to specific health questions or give medical advice, this is a tough one. Generally, ulcers are usually caused by H Pylori. When people have both GERD and an ulcer they require more complex care. When people choose a proton pump inhibitor PPI drug they start down a path that closes the door on restoring healthy acid levels from parietal cells of the stomach. We hope you figure this out and let us know what you discover on your health journey.

@TheHumanCondition3 жыл бұрын
We cannot give personal medical advice in this format, however, there are lots of practitioners and choices. We see many people find success by reducing grain or nightshade plants, adding zinc or raw apple cider vinegar, deglycyrrhizinated licorice, getting an h-pylori breath test, seeing their primary doctor for a physical, starting HRV training, meditating, and even chewing longer. Let us know how it goes for you.

Can hpylori be the cause of a dull pain on the left side where the rib is?
@TheHumanCondition2 жыл бұрын
Stomach pain or duodenal pain from h-pylori can radiate to the left ribcage. There is usually an echo area here to percussion below the L nipple that has the stomach air bubble called the meganblase, and it helps identify the stomach location. There is a good breath test for h-pylori because 80% of people have antibodies to it, because most of us carry it without a problem in small amounts. High amounts blow off excess urea in the breath.

In cases where I am also taking digestive enzymes supplements....how do I take it with betaine HCl?....few mins before betaine or together?

Digestive enzymes are pH dependent. HCL and enzymes with food are good together.

This is still healable even with removal of the GB. Find a clinician who is good with bile and ask around for good bile docs. It may take time, but they exist in every town. Might be a chiropractor or naturopath, or osteopath or dietician. dont give up this is fixable!

I just now realized you may have meant Your stools should sink. well, kind of. They should not fully float or they would be full of oil, but they should nit sink like a brick either or too much undigested protein. A perfect adult stool should start out with neutral ballast and as it takes on water it will slowly sink.
