I wish I only had 3 guys on the hundred acres north of my 80 acres in Central Wisconsin. For opening gun weekend, the total hunters are: 6 for one 40, 5 for another 40, 5 for a third 40, 4 for the 40 across the road, etc... At least 20 hunters for the 160 acres surrounding my property, it's gotten crazy. One 120 acre piece has 18 guys on it, that is only 3/4 of a mile away. Public ground actually has less pressure because at least the guys see your truck or trucks and know someone is there first. Give you some space at least.

The old nissan hardbodys and early frontiers had the best 4wd for being such a small truck. I had a 95 hardbody and a 99 frontier, v6, 4wd. Those mfs would always find the bottom on the mud pit and climb the steepest mountains. The only problems was the frames, especially the hardbodys, rusting out big time. My 95 is stuck up the mountain behind my house. Too steep to get it down because I drove it up there, then the frame literally snapped on both sides behind the cab

Been waiting on this one!!! I have learned alot from you about hunting pressured deer. This weekend i had a strang series of events. Been hunting a farm in a very similar to the way you hunted daves farm. Anywho i am tagged out in michigan with the 2 biggest bucks ive killed. The kicker is friday opening morning i had a big buck appear like a ghost at 12 yards behind me. I tried to shoot and my gun it misfires, i still ended up getting a shot at 30 yards totally blew ot and missed. I got back in the same stand saturday morning beating my self up all morning. I wasnt really in it mentally when i herd a stick break and here comes a doe and 4 fawns right in under me, They are starting to catch on to me when i catch something out of the corner of my eye, the same ghost buck lip cureling 25 yards away. I didnt blow this shot, he went down 40 yards. The most incredible moment ive ever had in the woods, hes a 5.5 year old 140 class michigan buck, it doesnt make any sense to get 2 shots at that caliber of deer in michigan. It just goes to show that you never give up because it can change that quick. Still cant believe it actually happend like that, i guess he was really meant for me.

My opinion is that OH has tons more public land than Kansas but it is really tough right now. We just spent youth weekend in SE Ohio and saw little pressure but little sign. No deer seen. 2 while driving and that’s it. I’m ready to go to a place with a higher deer density. Very hard to keep kids interest in the sport these days.

Are you going to get to go back to either one?You might want to hunt the one you're not.If yes then like Dan said what's the season ( bow. Early late muzz or shotgun)/ time of year between the two. Pick the best that are in your favor.

Except Toyota kind of shit the bed by jacking the price up $10K-15K. They also aren’t great for towing more than a small trailer and the interior is cramped. I have an 07’ with the 4.0 and it just cracked 170K miles. If I can find a Tundra with a 5.7 within my budget I will probably upgrade to that in the next year or so. Need more towing power for our camper and a bigger interior for kiddos.
