My oldest daughter was born on Halloween at 6:24 in the evening. I remember watching trick-or-treaters out the window right before her mom went into labor. I lost her two years ago in a car wreck should be 22 on Halloween. So now I spend my Halloween hunting this weekend. Will be dedicated to my daughter.

Dan, I enjoyed watching this show. I hunted Southern IN, 10-29 through 11-10 I just got back last night. I had an awesome hunt, unfortunately I miss judged the distance on a huge 10point and shot under him. Saw 27 bucks while I was there with 4 being big shooters.

Public land in Louisiana gets the most pressure-the saving grace is that that pressure concentrates the deer in water and swamps-our big problem is all the hogs -they will tear up the atv roads that it makes them practically impassable-this is a dry year so water is the key attractant

In my opinion, I think recently watching all these beast tactics and clueing into all the sign that Dan teaches us to. I feel like I’ve seen less deer now a days. Before I knew all this info. I think so many people are watching these videos and everybody is looking and setting up on the same stuff. Deer know where the humans are. I’ve found going back to overlooked areas with less sign and less human activity, the action picks up again. I’d walk deep into swamps and islands or deep into woods and just see stands and cell cams. But set up next to the road and the parking lot, I see more deer. 🤷🏻 almost have to revert back to my beginning days of hunting. Guys in my town with heavy summit climbers not nearly going in as deep or into remote swamps are shooting 125”-135”ers (which are big for mid Michigan) and I’m a mile back and see a lone spike. 🤷🏻 could just be my luck. Anyways everybody be safe and good luck!

Got a nice 3yo eight point this year going back to the very first public land spot I’ve ever hunted… about 300 yards or so in. Did have a run in with a stud going deep in tho on my first sit.. but I agree, a lot more people running through bedding checking cams with wrong winds, you name it. Seeing a lot more big bucks killed on small private pieces around here in Michigan because they’re getting pushed from the public

I had a missed opportunity around the time the last video came out where I had shot a doe from the ground and didn’t recover her, got back out there and got one at 8 yards from the ground with my bow she only ran 40yards and fell over. I hunt Indiana and I live in Chicago- HS and College in Indiana (Ball State). Super excited to see this. The reason you rarely see deer sign in Indiana is because on public land, only bucks are allowed to be shot during shotgun season. This means that many of the bucks that have a tendency to rub and make scrapes are killed. I’ve been hunting Indiana for more than 25 years and I can tell you that on public land it is very rare to find rubs or scrapes vs other states.
@TenPointTyrone2 жыл бұрын
See the rub in my pic THATS Indiana public You just aint looking I found over 30 scrapes in a creek bottom less than 200acres public land this yr alone

Hi from northwest Missouri question why is everyone touching every rub without gloves the bucks smell you
@thehuntingbeast2 жыл бұрын
Bucks smell you whether you touch the rub or not. We generally hunt these spots once and dont come back. If we intend to hunt an area multiple times we try not to go near where the deer walk. But if you walk past a rub its the same damage as touching it.

Guys I will let you in on a secret here in Indiana .Run from those hill property south of Indy .You want giants head for the Reservoir properties in the North central and northeastern part of the state and the FWA up there in the far north eastern parts . . The big ones are there and lots more than the over browsed over hunted over pressured under AG. hill country down south . Just saying after only hunting here for almost 50 years ,Good luck Hands down I recommend the above over down south .
@mikefromoh29252 жыл бұрын
Don’t tall anybody but definitely can be the same deal in Ohio! Out of staters are just really attracted to the hill country and I can understand why- I love it also. But if you want to get a look at bigger deer overlooked areas have their place! If I hunt Indiana I would probably go up to the northeast corner or even hunt that deer reduction zone along the highway up there.
